Yeah I've been thinking about it recently with U2 releasing a new single that's very boring and to little fanfare.

I ´m sorry but I can ´t let you go away with that… If you ´re talking about “The greatest show in the world” I disagree completely, and U2 fans are really pleased about the band releasing such an epic and not really comercial song as single. “Street of dreams” was horrible and lacked what makes U2 unique, “Silencio” was a good rock song (following Vertigo ´s path).

About Coldplay, I agree, I would love them to go back to meaningful and properly worked lyrics, and going back to that basic and intimate sound from the first albums… but I ´m not really optimistic.

Hello,

Well, I get the feeling that this break is going to last longer than expected, as I thought in 2025. The end of the tour was a bit weird with those roadies whose contracts ended without any plans for a future tour.

I'm also surprised by one thing (in a positive way): Chris seems to be spending a lot more time in London since his breakup, seemingly "reconnecting" with his roots. I know it's his life and none of my business, but I think his musical influences have changed quite a bit since he moved to LA permanently. Meanwhile, it's radio silence from Guy, which is pretty rare; he's usually always doing things on the side.

Then again, there were those listening sessions for a completely finished album... It's really bizarre. I'm probably wrong, but I have a hard time believing that the tour as we knew it will resume. It's really the kind of tour produced to make cash and it must honestly be exhausting and tiresome.

I didn’t know about those contracts, can you explain a little more about it?

My guess is that an EP is almost finished, and that ´s what they let some fans listen to some months ago. It will arrive around Christmas with the announcement of the last MOTS legs. Because all the rumours about residencies in England and Madrid, Chris´s words about how many concerts were left from the same tour… I don ´t believe it has all gone away, there ´s no reason for that to happen.

Hi,

At the shows on the last tour, some fans became friendly with a few roadies. Two or three roadies told them that their tour contracts were ending after the last concert and that they didn't have any plans with Coldplay for the time being after that. Of course, they can't say anything, but the way it was told made it highly credible. I remember being struck by those words because, at the same time, you had Chris saying they were going to come back for who knows how many concerts. And behind the scenes, you had these roadies reaching the end of their assignments.

I mean dates have been booked for 2027, that's confirmed. The MOTS tour will definately resume next year in some capacity. What that means for new music? Who knows.

Where did you see that?

Well, there have been rumours flying around for months, I remember in the summer it looked like it was very close to be announced... It could be all gossip, but gossip sustained on Chris ´s words in the middle of a concert and some news saying "somebody told me...", for example about 10 nights at Madrid. But I understand what you mean, and it´s really strange that roadies where not informed or aware of the tour plans...

If it happens, it must be with new music, at least an EP, they´re not the Rolling Stones (or Oasis😅).
