Allowing them to do solo albums is a good way to get the more unusual tracks out of Tom's system, the non-Keane sounding tracks.

 

And also gives the band a break, after-all they have been touring the last album for a while, not to mention any gigs to promote the greatest hits.

I think the break will do them some good. Their sound haven't been the same since UTIS. Strangeland came close but not quite.

I'm seeing them on Wednesday! Really excited to hear Won't Be Broken live :D

I've been listening to Coldplay Radio on iTunes and every time I hear a pleasant sound I'm not familiar with and check, it turns out to be Keane. I'm definitely getting their Greatest Hit.

I'd have to say my favorite album of theirs is Under the Iron Sea.

 

I used to not like Night Train, but I thought I'd give it another try after finding it in a record store, and now I am really into those songs....especially Your Love!

I LOVE Keane!! Probably in my top 5 bands, but for sure top 10. I have a friend who went to boarding school with TRO and Tom. One of her close (ish) friends is Tom's sister. And, she had classes with TRO!! It's fun to see pictures of her childhood and see Tim at that age.

They broke up....but I don't think it was anything bad. They were just done, and they did what they wanted to do. Now Tom Chaplin is starting a solo career

Keane is definitely one of my favorite bands. They are somewhere in my top 10, maybe even top 5. I've never seen them live, but I hope to do so someday in the future once they get back touring again. My favorite Keane album at the moment is Perfect Symmetry.

They are just on hiatus at the moment. Apparently they don't want to split up for good, they just want to take a break to focus on their own lives and solo projects for a little while.
