I normally start queuing at noon.

Keane are piano rock/brit pop. They don't have guitar. They're piano + drums + bass + voice. They have some elements from rock but they're mostly pop (especially their latest album, Strangeland)

 

I consider them soft rock/brit pop.

Keane is not rock, you need to have a guitarist to apply for that genre :lol:, they are a great pop band.

Whatever they are, it includes a bit of rock. Perfect Symmetry had guitars and it was the most "pop" of all of their albums.

Come on, there's good pop muisc, what's so bad on saying they are a pop group?

I really liked perfect Symmetry, I'm just saying that it had guitar and was the most poppy sounding. But I think you could say that they were piano-rock.

So I recently ordered the Asian Tour edition litho and it came today.

 

It's amazing! Soooo much better than Coldplay's. :P

Guys, can anyone point me to the link to Keane's live album?

I just noticed today that I don't have any of their live songs on my ipod. :P

I think they performed at ACL Festival a few days ago. Did anyone recorded that? Or it can be any live album.

There's at least 3 live albums: Live Recordings 2004, Live 06 and Live Recordings: European Tour 2008.

I'm going to see them on April 8th!!

Bit to early in their career to do a greatest hits in my view.

I hope this isn't the end of Keane. I am a bit excited, but I honestly wasn't expecting a Best of album so soon. I am really excited about the 2 new songs, though!

 

Hopefully they're just taking a little break. We'll also probably get some solo stuff from Tom Chaplin within the next year, and who knows, maybe another Mt. Desolation album?

Yeah, a bit surprise Keane would release one so early in their career and so close to their last album.

It might be the record label's wishes

 

Or written in their contract that after 4 albums a greatest hits will be released.

I think one thing is that their last album really felt like the ending of a chapter as a band, and it probably seemed like a good time to release one. Some fans are a bit worried the band is gonna split or something, but I doubt that.

I am really excited about the 2 new songs though!
