I'm always on a Sigur Rós phase, but right now I'm on agaetiys byrjun phase.

God I just cant choose a favourite albom of theirs!

Agaetis Byrjun: sort of more relaxin and atmospheirc album with a a lot of use of electronic and string stuff.

(): Well, it's the same as agaetis byrjun, but this one they use only the traditional instruments and piano, and even Jonsi's voice becomes just another instrument.

Takk: A mix of both, with, an art album.

með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust: a more acoustic album

Von: their debut

But all of their albums are magical and perfect

recently, im listening to hoppipolla and its such an amazing song!

Brosandi Smiling

Hendumst í hringi Spinning round and round

Höldumst í hendur Holding hands

Allur heimurinn óskýr The whole world a blur

nema þú stendur But you are standing

Rennblautur Soaked

Allur rennvotur Completely drenched

Engin gúmmístígvél No rubber boots

Hlaupandi inni í okkur Running inside us

Vill springa út úr skel Want to erupt from a shell

Vindurinn The Wind

og útilykt af hárinu þínu An outdoor smell of your hair

Ég anda eins fast og ég get I breathe as hard as I can

með nefinu mínu with my nose

Hoppípolla Jump into puddles

Í engum stígvélum With no boots on

Allur rennvotur(Rennblautur) completely drenched(Soaked)

Í engum stígvélum With no boots on

Og ég fæ blóðnasir And I get a nosebleed

En ég stend alltaf upp but I always stand up

I just can't understand how a band like Sigur Rós exist, god send them !!!

ok that was a bit exagerate :P, but am I the only one who feels transported by their music?

I don't think many people aren't transported by their music when they hear it. Coming from iceland, it's like they're untainted by the flaws and patterns in western music today. Never heard anything like it. They brought a whole new alien, musical civilization into light.

I think they're unique, no band is close to them, I mean, other post rock bands aren't as magic as them, the classical and art rock influence on them makes them an unequaled band.

I'm an ecologist dude who loves nature, but when I listen to Sigur Rós, I love our earth even more

when I listen to Sigur Rós, I love our earth even more

I feel the same! Magical eh?

I don't really correlate Sigur Ros with the earth anymore than the next band. If anything they makes me love music and man's advances in creativity even more.

They sing mostly in icelandic, however several songs an album are sung partially or entirely in "Hopelandic" which is made up of nonsense syllables that don't really mean anything. Their only song sung in English is the very last song of their latest album, called "All Alright".

P.S.:

If you haven't checked them out yet, DO SO IMMEDIATELY!!! (don't be dismayed by the language barrier, most of their songs are so beautiful, you won't care) :D

yes vivi check them out NOW!!

very nice avi btw tnspieler102

I have only lisen few songs. Im a nebbie with them. I found Saeglopur in Youtube and I were stonished. I didn't knew what to do kry or laugh of felicity.

laugh?!? :\

don't misunderstand me please, I liked a lot, That was what I wanted to say (my fault)

Edit: I'm a big disaster speaking my own language

Definitely. I love how in Viorar vel til loftarasa and Olsen Olsen, the vocals are very soft and distant. Vocals can sometimes destroy other wise beautiful tracks. But in so many of their tracks it becomes just another instrument. Melodic and distinguishable, but modestly in the backdrop.

Don't worry, I could tell you liked it. It's just such a melancholic song/video, I couldn't really see what there would be to laugh at other than the ridiculously long time he spends underwater. :P

yes, the voice is just another instrument

try this too

That happend to me because I was trying to explay a feeling, an emotional feeling (some kind of Stendhal Syndrome), that vid is so pretty

try olsen olsen mygdalom

i liked it a lot, thanks ricardo. me ha puesto los pelos de punta, el mensage es precioso

sabes que me ha recordado olsen olsen? a dead can dance - Host of seraphim. Lisa Gerard tambien ha creado su propio leguaje de emociones. Me hace vibrar hasta llorar, no sé como explicarlo. Es extraño. Belleza y punto tia. Tambien la estoy descubriendo :).

quien es lisa gerard?

*goes to youtube to serach lisa gerard*

I know, I think is the best way to end a concert ever

It's the crescendo to end all crescendo's. Exhausting to watch. I will say I'm glad "Takk" was completely different though, I couldn't have taken two more album's of those slow-building, ten minutes epics.
