  1. Exactly. And what's cool is when you make a mark on your paper when you like the person, and they look at everyone's papers... and then whoever made marks about liking each other are notified. So it's a secret ballot and nobody's feelings are hurt. It doesn't matter to me! :P
  2. It seems like it could take some of the stress out of blind dates because it would feel like a game. Plus, I usually know if I like someone within the first few minutes I talk to them anyway. I'm very good at being close-minded. ;)
  3. A string quartet would be intensely cool. Imagine how they could spice up some other songs like Clocks (although I wouldn't want it to be overused... personally I prefer Eno-synths).
  4. Aww I'm sorry! I was just kidding, I don't even know you.
  5. Orgies = I'm a billionaire. Back off of my idea!
  6. You wouldn't need to sign up, I bet you're in high demand anyway ;) << Is lame.

Brick, from Anchorman: I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT!
  8. Bootcut jeans and a Volcom teeshirt. And black New Balance shoes, and a black leather belt.
  9. This thread gives me an idea for a website: a dating site that matches people based on their musical preferences. I'll BRB, I'm going to go start it and make a billion dollars. :P
  10. Dear EMI: I'm buying their album, probably more than once (to give as gifts). Don't freak out at people downloading music, it's good for business.
  11. I like it, I think it's a good length. I love instrumental music to begin with, so I don't mind that there's no singing. It actually reminds me a little bit of Parachutes in a strange way, just more excited and happy version of Don't Panic. I'm feeling this album could be as good as Parachutes (particularly after hearing Viva la Vida and Life in Technicolor... not sure yet about Lost!, although I hear the final version may feature organs and other layers of sound which could make it better and more emotional). I can't wait for a higher-quality version of the song, because I can barely detect some awesome bass and a few little synth touches by Eno sprinkled throughout. Separation of the strings instruments is difficult to make out in this lower bitrate version.
  12. I'm buying the physical CD anyway because it's uncompressed. I can hear a difference between 320kbps and WAV when I'm using 'spensive audio 'quipment.
  13. Yep that old geezer in the sweater on the keyboard is Eno.
  14. A new message from Prospekt!

lol, I'm glad people like them. I'll do another one later today.
  16. I'd like to be a hedge fund manager (cause they get paid insane amounts and the job is really fun). And being a semi-celebrity like being in a band would be awesome... but I have no musical talent. Or so I think... I should take lessons to find out! Starting my own business is something else I aspire to do.
  17. That leaked video might not be the final version of the track tho... it said "rough cut" at the beginning. I'm perfectly happy with it as an instrumental though.
  18. Instrumentals are music too. I think it's great. I doubt Coldplay would rip a track like that, and then go make a film of themselves playing it with Eno. This is their own work.

Nobody's sure yet, which is why it makes such great comedy (see my spoofs in my sig). But it could be Markus Dravs or Brian Eno... Probably Dravs. Or maybe some dude they went to college with. Or Apple or Timbaland. Who knows?
  20. Yah they changed it to Viva la Vida on iTunes here in America too. I hope they release a new album, that would be so much clawsome. I'd be in heaven (I already love Brian Eno as it is).
  21. An absolutely beautiful song, and a beautiful video to go along with it. It's one of those Coldplays that makes you feel happy just listening to it, and it doesn't try to be pretentious or high-minded... just a very simple repeating melody on an oddball asian strings instrument, mixed with some wicked bass and guitars by Chris and Guy... the best way I can describe it is "friendly sounding". It's a short song, and the beginning opens with a pretty synth by Eno. For those of you who haven't heard it yet, don't let my comments get your expectations too high. It's not a swirling masterpiece, just something that'll put a smile on your face (especially when you see the great video). I can't wait to see this performed live!
  22. I'd sooner smoke pot than a cigarette. At least one gets you high...
  23. Awesome: Life in Technicolor Viva la Vida Lost! (Even awesomer assuming there's strings and organ in the final version) Not so Awesome: Violet Hill ^^ These are my personal opinions. So far Coldplay are batting 3:1 on the awesome side.
  24. England is worse when it comes to privacy invasion, probably. You're better off moving somewhere like Hong Kong or New Zealand or somewhere rural like Tasmania or a South American country. And to a certain extent the federal reserve is necessary, but it is just being mismanaged. The European Bank is far better at managing a currency because their charter isn't to "fix" the economy, it's just to keep the Euro from inflating too fast. Finally, don't look to an individual politician to fix America's problems. It will take a change of culture, and a slow, grinding realization that freedom is good. It'll be painful, and it'll be a group effort if it ever happens. Or a revolution, whichever comes first.
  25. 42

Saffire replied to Choldplayer's topic in 42
42 is an awesome song, I particularly liked the middle part that sounds like Rammstein with a little Bach thrown in. Very uplifting yet evil sounding. Sorry you guys haven't heard it yet. :P
