  1. Thanks, dude, been looking for these. We should use this thread to post the promo shots from the new album as well.
  2. Very good question. I've bought each of Coldplay's CD's more than once (sometimes as gifts... I've bought AROBTTH a total of four times). If anyone should be able to listen to the songs as they leak, it's the hardcore fans like us.
  3. Both parties are effectively the same, trying to get us to trade our freedoms for safety - either from terrorists or a dreaded recession. What they forget to tell us is that both issues - terrorism and recessions - are actually the result of government interference. In the first, government screws around in the middle east causing tons of people to hate our guts. There's a reason terrorists don't attack Sweden, for instance. Second, the Federal Reserve either doesn't print enough money (Great Depression) or prints too much money (stagflation of the 1970's, and now). We need a revolution, not another election between the lesser of two evils.
  4. The American government has been "needing to stop" ever since Lincoln and FDR began centralizing power on the federal level. Jefferson, Franklin, etc. knew taxes, big government, and costly unnecessary wars are the downfall of every great empire. It's only a matter of time before America is surpassed economically, medically (not due to socialized healthcare, but due to free markets and a population with healthier eating habits), and socially by other counties. We're already seeing it occur with the rise of the EU and China's export success, as well as the falling dollar. I look forward to this, not because I'm anti-American, but because it will hopefully spur America into trying a little harder... by reducing the size of the government and ending this systematic destruction of the Bill of Rights under the guise of defeating "terrorists".
  5. I swear I hear harpsichord in there. Right when Chris is singing about "revolutionaries wait, for my head on a silver plate".
  6. X&Y is still that high on the list?? Imagine the royalties checks they're getting every week... *ugh*. I want to be a rockstar.
  7. Saffire replied to amsterdam's topic in Coldplay
Oh God. That was a perfectly nice picture until Chris started humping Jonny... you better be careful or they'll issue a restraining order! LOL
  8. BINGO!!! Violet Hill was made ten times better when it follows VLV. Suddenly the context is there. It's like "The Prince and the Pauper"... a single song, two acts of a play. Awesome.
  9. Basically what I'm saying is we're the master race. :hitlermoustache:
  10. Viva la Vida - white, yellow, sepia tinted, springtime revolutionary france colors. ASARY - Aquamarine, underwater Violet Hill - White, black, red, sharp colors/contrasts.
  11. Coldplay fans tend to be more mature or something. And incredibly intelligent, good-looking, and all around nice people. I'm super serial.
  12. Prince William is too handsome to be the antich---- Oh. Wait.
  13. Hey Ari, you're totally right. My brother is dependent on weed, and that's all he ever wants to talk about. Potheads are boring people. My friend took some weed that made him very sick once, so he vowed never to do it again. Then a week later he smoked again. :P
  14. Name: John Nickname: Jay Favorite Color: Navy Blue (like this forum's background) Favorite Animal: Tasmanian Tiger http://youtube.com/watch?v=Eofw3N6Dlq4 Favorite Song: Changes by the day... right now it's Viva la Vida. Favorite Band: Coldplay, Doves Favorite Football Team: I don't watch it... but American football sucks. If you had a boy or a girl what would you call it: Calvin? Lilly or Eva for a girl. A place you would like to die: Under the stars in a tropical forest. How would you like to die: Painless brain hemorrhage while I'm asleep and perfectly happy. How many times do you swear a day: 8 or 10. Trying to cut down. How many times do you smile a day: Twice on average. Not enough. Your coolest hobby: Drawing
  15. Maybe they'll march to the White House or make it a play with actors or something. Or maybe all their concerts will be free... I hope not. I don't want the riff raff interfering with my enjoyment of quality music. Tickets should cost at least as much as a Bentley.
  16. I'm going to make a wild guess and say Violet Hill is the weakest track. That interview with Guy and Will leads me to believe someone in a suit picked it as their first single, because it wasn't even on the album until very recently.
  17. *barf* cough cough cough HACK... *dies*
  18. LOL ...whoa. This thread makes glorious sexytimes.
  19. I said Death and All His Friends, only because I read it has a piano bit that sounds alot like the Doobie Brothers and I think it will be more upbeat than most people expect. I like Coldplay when they are upbeat.
  20. This is oddly comforting to me. I wonder if Violet Hill was bumped up in place of Famous Old Painters when they were trying to think of an album theme.
  21. Saffire replied to melanieau's topic in The Lounge
That would be hilarious. I would use them. Jonny has the most awkward smile ever. :D
  22. And we haven't even started on the racial slurs yet! This summer is going to rock.
  23. What a coincidence... I think The Veils are a pretty crappy band!
  24. I would pay $1,000 for a ticket to this concert.
  25. Told you so. There will be more songs you'll like, even better. You gotta give it a chance.
