  1. And The Escapist is just the CD playing at the end. Plus, Death Will Ever (lovely as it is) is really really short...

Exactly!! I think there's going to be lots of cuddling and canoodling at the Osaka gig this August :laugh3:
  3. It's very early days, far too early to write songs off. Wasn't Yes played live for the very first time at this gig (soundchecks apart)? And they played Green Eyes two out of the four times I saw them on the last tour.
  4. For me Will has the much better voice for the song - rock steady, and naturally lower. Chris sounds really strained on this imo, and the arrangement with acoustic guitar (live) rather than piano's much better. But it's a really nice little song :)
  5. I didn't submit it, or even finish it. Just page one alone looks like far too much personal information they're requesting for no reason whatsoever (except, perhaps, to get your personal information...) Viral marketing, I'd say (and please do remember they already have your IP address :( )
  6. What's their link with Japan, out of interest?
  7. Really nice thread :) And great effort, coldprayjebus! Despite the limitations of Paint it really does look like Chris!! I would like to be kind about your effort, but I can't. The second one (your drawing) is, I'm sorry to say, rubbish. I can't even see a single thing that reminds me of the brilliant photo of Will (the first one) :D Welcome to the forum by the way Suzana (please excuse my small joke - your drawing is amazing)!! :)

Very nice to meet you here Wilson :) A great friend of mine is a Texan who adores Coldplay, but he's living in Japan with his lover - his wife -and also his little baby girl! Hope you have a great time on the forum!
  9. Many thanks for this post, just my kind of music and I'd never heard of them :)
  10. The link's not working now...
  11. It's lovely live, and Will's great on it :) It really does sound like a spiritual, doesn't it?

  13. 1. First related Coldplay memory? When I was living in Japan, my Japanese friend (one of the coolest girls in Japan btw - and that's saying something!) asked me if I liked Coldplay, and was amazed when I said I'd never heard of them (I was living life inside a bubble over there lol). I didn't hear them till my girlfriend visited from Tokyo and brought their first two cds - it was love at first listen :) 2. Have you ever seen the band live in concert, if so where? 2003 - Fuji Rock Festival, Japan 2005 - Crystal Palace, Earls Court (x2) 2006 - Isle of Wight 2008 - Brixton Academy, BBC Television Center 3.a Favorite Coldplay album? VLV at present - might revert back to Rush someday. b. Favorite Coldplay song? Impossible to say. c. Favorite Coldplay video? Yellow or In My Place. 4. Most treasured Coldplay item in your collection? Nothing really - threw most of my tickets away and don't collect anything else. Maybe confetti from Brixton and the BBC? 5. What was your craziest fanatic moment regarding Coldplay (ie. did you have to go at great lengths to see them live? did you do something really dramatic to defend Coldplay? etc etc.) I put an incredible effort in attempting to get to the Brixton and BBC gigs. It was ridiculous, actually, but so worth it in the end (and thank goodness I got to at least one!!) I'll never try so hard for any gigs again for the rest of my life.
  14. It's fan made, clearly. Can this thread be locked?
  15. Yea, I've always had the gender whatnot (though the webmasters here disabling it is as good a reason as exists for not noticing that - quite understand). By the way, I spotted you I think at the BBC (quite a tall chap eh?) and thought you were quite a striking fellow. If I'd known who you were I would have loved to have said hello. I missed the issue of Ticketmaster 'extra' tickets for Brixton on the day of VLV release only because I popped out to the shops to get my disabled Dad some lunch; and stopped on the way back to listen to you talking to Coldplay. It was a marvellous moment, really incredible, and I was so glad for you, but also so upset for myself that I wouldn't be going to either Brixton or the BBC. I must admit I cried buckets... But something touched me (or, perhaps, I was lucky to touch it) and just a few days later, amazingly, I managed to get to both gigs. I'll never get over that (or stop going on about it on here probably hehe...) There IS a God - and he dresses up as Cedric (and co) in his spare time!!
  16. Who are you addressing this to JD? Me, or my (transsexual) elephant??! :D Lol, my avatar probably is (at best!) ambiguous, but the male 'sign' next to my gender should surely give the game away!!... ? :\:wink3:
  17. Mate you probably have no idea how much joy you and your friends brought to so many of us here all those long weeks ago. You're are an absolute star :D
  18. I absolutely admire your longing for change, Chuck, and your will to put in whatever individual effort it takes to put your opinion across. As a former and future (physical) citizen of the World (I will always be one in spirit!!), but just now for the time being one of just Britain, the US so badly needs Obama, the World relies upon it in a sense I think, and I so hope you are successful. All wind to your sails my friend :)
  19. Beautiful  (and funny!)
  20. Yes it's classic Beatles in my book. And yet not derivative. Not copied. Not a pale imitation. I'll put all my eggs in one basket and say that, in my opinion, it's as good as the Fab Four ever got with such a brief song.
  21. Personally I hear 'sleeping in the summer sky' for a few lines, and other slight variations of what other people have posted here. I don't think anyone's got the exact lyrics yet...?

Hi Rania, it's lovely to meet you here, and thanks for posting so we can get to know you!! :) I've wanted to visit Norway ever since I was a young lad (a long time ago now!) It's always seemed like such a fascinating country to me, although I know very little about it really. Wow, you love football?! Do you play, or have a favourite team? I'm a huge Spurs fan (I hear they are quite qell known in Norway!) and of course I love Coldplay too! Hope you'll have a great time here :)
  23. Bumping this and recalling one of the most exciting days of my life, thanks to Cedric and his fine team. You were (and are!) stars in the night sky of music, and you shine!! :)
  24. I absolutely adore the album and think it's their very best yet, but most of the songs leave me wanting more... and very much more. It all started with Violet Hill for me. Such a mind-blowing track, and yet over before you know it. Live it's amazing how quickly that oh-so-delicious moment's been and gone like a wafer-thin mint (must be said in a faux-French accent!) :( It continues all throughout the album, almost like a theme: LiT is only half the track that (hopefully) we'll one day get; CoL finishes soon after it finally starts to soar as high as it always threatens to; Yes likewise, when it almost screams for an extended outro a la Fool's Gold or I Am the Resurrection...and I could go on and on. I know - or think - or think that I know!! - just why the songs are all like this, and that that's one of the whole points of the album after the slight - and very slight - 'bloat' of x&y. And I love how you are almost forced to listen to the whole thing to get your fill of our beloved band. But still, I wonder, what songs people feel are 'complete', as long as you'd ideally love them to be? For me only Lost! and Viva work like that, and Strawberry Swing comes close... looking forward to reading your thoughts!! :)
  25. I don't agree with everything there, but some much more thoughtful and well-articulated points there than most of the articles I've read for a very long time. Thanks for posting :)
