100% agreed. i love love love radiohead, but coldplay will always be my #1. and i just hate how people seem to think that radiohead is of more critical or artistic worth or something just because theyre more experimental and radical. coldplay is amazing (to me) for different reasons, and because of that, i can't compare them. i just dont think theyre worth any less just because theyre slightly more mainstream or public or whatever. theyre hardly the same in any venue, so i cant understand any musical comparisons beyond pablo honey. and all the waning coldplay love in favor of radiohead, while its slightly understandable, makes me sad. i just dont feel like coldplay has done anything to deserve the desertion that seems to be going on a bit. of course, to each their own, but i dont think we can make any judegements on them until we see what LP4 is like. THEN we can talk about what their future is.

ah zemy, we always seem to feel the same way. i wish i COULD stay away from the forum and the site for a while, but its both physically impossible (i have an addiciton!) and i feel like i'm missing so much both in CP news and the lounge! but i'm freaking tearing my hair out here. if we dont hear anything by the end of feb, i'm going to lose all hope.

thanks so much for those mojo scans!! now i dont have to track it down, which is tricky in america, and i dont have to PAY for it because its pretty expensive over here. i would say that i would do the same once i get the rolling stone with them on, but i didnt bring a scanner to college! :bigcry:

ladder to the sun is definitely one of my top 10 (ok maybe top 15...) coldplay songs. how i wish there was a studio version!! though the live versions are incredible in themselves. but i wonder what other amazing songs like this that theyre hiding under their belts that we've never heard and probably never will hear!! one of my greatest desires is to break into the coldplay vault and listen to everything in there.

i'm pretty sure only will and chris sing the end bit of "fix you" on the album, even though all four sing it live. i read that somewhere and was a bit disappointed, because i love it when they all sing together. i think they just multi-tracked chris and will's voices for "fix you." but i hope they all sing more on LP4, especially jonny!

me too. whining it is. last month i was so sure that the next prospekt entry would be THE ONE with the release date in it, but it wasnt. now i have the same feeling (especially since its been so long since we've heard anything new), but i dont want to set myself up for disappointment again. i'm beginning to feel like they OWE us an update, but that's really not fair considering that theyre amazing for keeping us as updated as they have in the past and for writing all these great, personal little journal entries when most bands dont do anything like that. but i'm starting to feel a bit neglected, no matter how unfounded that is. and i would think that if its coming out as soon as we all think it must (may-ish), theyve got to tell us quite soon. i'm holding onto debs saying "it wont be too much longer" or whatever she said. thats the most encouraging thing i've heard in a while.

^yep, philly is like an hour from here! but it all depends on WHEN the coldplay/radiohead concerts are! if theyre during the school year, ill probably end up going to philly to see them and then we can meet! (but if theyre doing NYC on a weekend, there's a really easy shuttle bus that costs $60 round trip to go to NYC friday-sunday, and i could just sleep at my house and see coldplay on friday and/or saturday at MSG if thats when theyre doing it...all in all that might be easier for me to get to even though its farther...i just know NYC better than philly :\) but i suppose i can meet anna and others at MSG and annie at philly, so either way its a win :D so if they would JUST ANNOUNCE THE TOUR DATES (well, album first) and get on with it, we can start to plan.

never never never. and i've had the opportunity as well. if i know i'm driving within the next 12 hours, i will not put any alcohol into my system. its just not even worth it. i dont see why people cant just make arrangements for transport.

i couldnt believe it when i heard it! heath was my very first celebrity crush as a middle school girl. and was quite the hottie. he's also a friend of a friend, so that makes it a bit more interesting for me. apparently he was found in mary kate olsen's NYC apartment? i wonder if that's just a rumor, but CNN was reporting it for a while...

^i do agree with that statement, but i think some of their riffs are really brilliant. and it's just a personal thing, coldplay vs. radiohead. i love both immensely, but coldplay will always be more special to me.

was radiohead part of the late shoegazer movement in the pablo honey era, or am i making that up? i may be confused with another band, but i could have sworn i read that in the radiohead book i have.
