Cornerstone is a little too lovey dovey for my liking. Crying Lightning is still the stand out track from the album so far for me. My Propellor is pretty decent! and i agree with you in saying that there hasnt been a wicked riff or anything so far on the album but i think we were all expecting something very different from the boys on this album. another thing that has bothered me is how polished the production is sounding, doesnt suit their sound and style of music.

ok i'll record the show on my dvd recorder but im out of spare dvd's so it might be a little while before they get uploaded. just to give you an idea of how lazy i am on these things i recorded the arctic monkeys BDO performance back in jan and i still half of it left to put up. and still have lily allen and tv on the radio performances from last month lying around. but i will try my best with these eskimo joe vids, hoping somebody else does it for me.

awesome to see people outside of australia appreciating this great band. Sleeps Like A Curse was a stunning album but their 2007 release Cruel Guards was amazing!! easily one of my favourite albums of that year and thoroughly deserved the J Award (a little correction - it is not the equivalent of the Mercury Prize, the AMP is its equivalent) my favourite track off the album is Ruins. and Dejan i know we havent seen eye to eye on everything but i appreciate your interest in australian bands.

once again howyousawtheworld makes a wonderful contribution to a discussion on this forum. bravo! *round of applause* actually... *10 minute standing ovation* back to the real world...if i wanted to i could most probably flick back to 2006 on this thread but i'm curious to know what the reaction was like to the first single from BHAR, Supermassive Black Hole. that was very different sounding to their previous work. and one more issue (i feel ashamed to follow howyousawtheworld's post with this rubbish) do people prefer the more guitar driven muse tracks or the ones where its more piano-based. if people want i wouldn't mind making a separate thread on that question. there are enough bullshit threads in this section, one more wouldnt hurt.

On Monday 26 July ABC2 will broadcast Eskimo Joe's performance at Triple J's One Night Stand 2009 in Sale. The show will run for about 20mins starting at 10:30PM. There will be no repeat of the show. I won't be able to record it so i hope somebody else does.

correct me if i'm wrong but has it almost been a year since Muse did a full proper concert. was the last at the V fest or in dubai or something july-ish last year? i cant wait to see how some of the new songs sound live, cos thats how i judge their music. i really hope they do alot of tv appareances and promo shows around the release of the album cos according to their website their first shows are with U2 in the states!! thats like a Texan country band playing their first shows in Tehran.

i started off liking this song but the more i listen to this song the sillier it sounds. but i wont go as far as to say its a bad song. i've never paid much attention to matt's lyrics and his vocal work has always been hit and miss. i hope there are some great guitar rock songs on this album.

i've been saying this non stop for the last 2 days now. this is the first time ive been really excited about coldplays music since violet hill came out. i never stopped loving coldplay but these demos have just blown me away.

@robmatt not sure if anyone asked you this or not. but what did you think of the demos? have you listened to them a few times? i think im upto listen 20 or something haha. i dont think i've listened to VLV that many times. it really proves what a musicial genius chris martin is.

if Lady Gaga got any worse im sure the earth will shatter to pieces. my decades in order of preference 90s 70s 00s 60s .... ... ... 80s i said on another thread that the 90s were when alternative rock peaked and that being my fave genre it makes it the obvious choice. although i hate the 80s i'll admit that some of my favourite bands are from that era. and i dont see any reason for shutting this thread, it makes for interesting discussion. but knowing this place im sure some moron/s will get on their high horse and start their own little tirade.

muse have had Queen comparisons made about them for years and years now. i dont quite get why fans are jumping up and down about it now. i heard the song on the radio this morning, the announcers were completely oblivious to the whole treasure hunt thing which was dissapointing but oh well. yet to hear the collateral damage bit.
