U2 still the greatest band in the world ?
U2 is definitely a big band, but I don't think of them as the greatest. As much as I love Coldplay, not even they are the greatest band in the world. I'd have to say The Beatles. Not only were they huge and successful during their time, but they have stood the test of time. I'm not a U2 fan, but I respect where they have come from and what they are doing.

Why is Major Minus so underrated?
I like both the live and studio versions of MM. However, my favorite one so far is MTM. Gah...I just LOVE this song.

The R.E.M. Thread
Was a huge REM fan back in my day...have most of their albums. My favorites were Monster and Automatic for the People. I was bummed to hear they decided to split after releasing Collapse Into Now. I think it's a great album, even though I don't own it....yet. But, I tend to agree with bjaiken. I look for a reunion...probably not soon, but at some point.

Is This the Most Hate?
That kind of makes me feel a bit sick to my stomach that they know about what is written over here. God, I hope they don't take it to heart. If anything, this site should be a huge support for them, and right now...the negative completely outweighs the positive.

Is This the Most Hate?
Yes, couldn't agree more. I wish those with nothing but negative things to say about all their singles and this album would just state their opinion and then leave. I'm fine with opinions, but it's honestly getting silly having to listen to "ETIAW sux!!111 Coldplay r crap!!" posts at every turn. And this is coming from someone who didn't like ETIAW or Paradise on the initial listens. But, they have grown on me and I'm starting to be open to this new direction. I know people have a right to be here...but if those people openly hate Coldplay's new direction, then why are they still here posting hate? I didn't particularly like Glen Ballard's hand in producing Dave Matthews Band back when "Every Day" came out and then everything after that just fell short for me, but I didn't stick around the fansite I frequented and beat a dead horse about how I hated it. I quietly left, moved on, and found a new band to rave about.

Paradise Live
I noticed this, too. I think it translated well live. I was worried about it. But, even though he was chained to the piano, I still think he sounded....tired? Fatigued? His voice just didn't have any power.

predictions on the Billboard Hot 100
I haven't heard Paradise on the radio yet. I've heard ETIAW, but just not Paradise. Just checked the Billboard 100 and Adele's "Someone Like You" is #2! Yay! This is such a beautiful song.

Interview with Chris for RS magazine on working with Eno and Rihanna
What a great interview. I really love how he called the album "colorful." That's how I feel about the few tracks we've been presented with in studio form. It sounds to me like Brian Eno has been a very positive influence on this band. They became a behemoth among bands and with that comes a mass of opinions. In reading the other article in this section about Will's fears about MX now that it's been released and how they tried to please everybody in X&Y, it's clear to me that they let some of the negative criticism get to them and they faltered in confidence. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the talking heads and what they say, but I think Eno came in and boosted their confidence. I mean, weren't they thinking about splitting up after X&Y or during the making?? I'm much more excited about this album now that I've heard Mr. Martin ruminate on a few things to do with the album. He has assuaged my fears about PoC and he has left me anxious to hear the rest of the album!

The music forum's take on Paradise
People make mistakes. Nobody's perfect. ETA: And neither am I. Now I see I unintentionally insulted a fellow Coldplayer with my previous comment. I truly apologize. I am not prideful nor stubborn. I will admit when I have done and said something wrong. So, to Pai, please know that I am sorry.

The music forum's take on Paradise
Here we go. I was wondering when her friends with post counts over 10,000 would start ganging up on me because I don't think her opinion is the most important one in the thread. Again...me making useless posts....your opinion. And frankly, your post count suggests you've statistically made more "useless posts" than me.....but, it's all a matter of opinion on what is useless anyway.

Rate the latest movie you've seen
I'll be honest, when I first saw the movie I thought it was awesome, but now knowing what I know about what happened between Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Aniston, I just can't like it.
