  1. Phew! Thank you. I won't be able to enjoy it with everyone else but now at least I know I'll get to see it eventually. I've got to take my cat to the vet. She apparently went blind overnight! WTF?
  2. I am frantic. I will not be able to watch. Does anyone plan to record it? Please, please, please.
  3. ...continuing the share these little tidbits: Will & Chris introducing "UFO" - Will explained that at first they were planning an acoustic album and UFO didn't fit because it was a hard-rocker. Then they changed the focus to a rock album and UFO would have fit but somehow it became an acoustic song. :)
  4. I hate Pitchfork, no matter what. They are so bloated with their own importance, they make me crazy.
  5. No, I meant the DVD/documentary and the accompanying CD of the concert. Amazing...and the bombastic videos.
  6. Off-Topic...me too. Have you seen and/or heard"All I Ever Wanted?" Seeing them in November.
  7. Will gushed over Adele. Chris & Will (I think it was Will) both announced that Bob Marley is one of their all-time favorite artists. Guy happily named Bowie as one of his favorites.
  8. If Sirius satellite counts, then yes, everyday. I mostly listen to Howard Stern :o; Alt Nation; and then jump around between NPR, XMU & BPM.
  9. Will introduced "Charlie Brown," saying that it was the first song written and had been bouncing around for 3 years. That's not news, however, he did say that it had several names before they settled on "Charlie Brown." Cartoon Heart is obvious but maybe it was once Car Kids. (I haven't followed the whole Car Kids saga, but it seems to be torturing some Coldplayers.) And maybe Charlie Brown was a famous old painter. :D
  10. Oh yes, PLEASE. I'll be in the middle of teaching a spin class. :(
  11. When I first heard the live stuff, Charlie Brown was my hands down favorite and I didn't like Hurts Like Heaven at all. Now, I love HLH and while I still like Charlie Brown, my current favorites are UATW & Up With the Birds.
  12. <warning: PG13> Anyone listening? There are little snippets with the guys, introducing & giving background to their songs. When introducing "Up In Flames" (I think it was UIF), Chris said that it starts out sad but like any good massage it has a happy ending! You could hear Will crack up and could almost hear him thinking, "did he just say that?" LOL, classic Chris! If anyone else hears some good ones, please share. Also, in the course of 3 hours, I heard "Don't Let it Break Your Heart" twice on Sirius altnation. Interesting that they are playing that instead of the official singles.
  13. Hope someone recorded this. I need to listen to it again...it was so dense with content, I couldn't take it all in on one listen. Steve's the man! It's obvious they have a lot of respect for each other.
  14. This is the best interview ever....
  15. Torn between Politik and Life in Technicolor. As an album opener, I think I prefer Politik but as a show opener, I like LiT.
  16. How do we know...possibly the other 3 decided to 'pay' Chris extra for taking on the spotlight. He manages most of the publicity...even when they appear in groups, he does most of the talking. In past interviews some of them (I distinctly remember Guy) have said how they appreciate Chris's willingness to take the hits for them. Maybe they've decided as a group that he should earn more. As far as drug use. I think of that 'rule' as a naive pronouncement of 4 very committed young men. They were smart & focused and knew how hard they would need to work to find success. They couldn't risk any attention-zappers. Fame came, stresses build and things happen. If one of them succumbed to temptations, it would be in the band's best interest to stay intact, along with their general caring for each other. I'm just throwing this out there as a possibility. Who knows?
  17. Seriously? You need reviews? In this day & age? Go to YouTube and listen to the tracks and decide for yourself whether it's worth your money. Relying on message board posters is as pointless as relying on reviewers. You know what they say about opinions...
  18. I've been intrigued by the mentioning of Gwyneth & family recently. In fact, I am convinced it was a calculated decision on Chris's part to allow it. My theory (which could be total bonk) is that he was talked into it by his publicist to help counter all the breakup rumors that are always floating around. Obviously, even though small family references seem to be OK these days, Chris is still very uncomfortable with them. It seems like he just needed time to compose himself. He's under enormous pressure & it has been stated many times that he can be moody and volatile. I think he manages to hold it together remarkably well. Thank goodness this didn't happen on The Today Show or 60 Minutes. "The Bert Show?" I mean, really...
  19. I LOVE the album, critics be damned. They are just people offering their opinions, which are as worthless as mine. All I know is when I showed up at Target early this morning, there were about 15 customers in the store and 6 of us were buying MX and when my son stopped back later in the day, they were restocking the shelves. I don't think we need to shed tears for Coldplay any time soon.
  20. I, too, prefer the studio version. In fact, I didn't like the live version at all.
  21. Nothing here yet -- no link, not even a canned response to my emails. But I headed out to Target this morning and bought a copy of the CD, which I've already ripped into my computer. So, basically, I don't know why I'm so obsessed with this stupid link. eta: got it!
  22. My best friend of 25 years died almost 2 years ago and I was involved in the decision to remove her from life support. "A Ghost" still reduces me to mush.
  23. Yeah, but hot damn, that elephant could ride a bike!
