Limited edition pop-up Album cost?
Thanks for your replies. I decided to order it...hopefully the diary will be worth it because I'll probably not bother with ebay...

We've heard too many songs.
I am a little disappointed that when I get the new album, there won't be as much to absorb but balances out, considering how excited I was to hear the new stuff all summer. I purposely haven't listened to Princess or Flames so they will be completely new to me also.

Limited edition pop-up Album cost?
I'm so torn about this. The money's not an issue but I'm not a collector and have no need for anything but the CD. However, I really want the tour diary. I'm wondering if I can break it up and sell the other stuff on ebay.

Oh dang, I feel fast asleep and missed it. Anyone know if it will be repeated? Or if it's available anywhere?

Oh man, I'd pass out.

I Miss Lovers in Japan
It's never been a favorite of mine but I think it will work it's way into the setlist from time to time. Actually, I wish they would have left the confetti in the Viva era. It was something special that I associate with that song & that tour. When they use it now, it feels cliche to me. With each album, it's got to be hard to pick songs. Personally, I'm tired of Clocks and Yellow, but people still go crazy as soon as they start them so I guess they have to keep them in. If you get to see them live, I hope they play it for you! :)

Is it just me or is this entire era starting to feel...depressing?
No, there are others, but definitely not me. I am enjoying every bit of this. I know there will be some stuff I love, some I won't and some in between, but I expect that. I rarely enjoy everything. I've moved on from bands I once liked but don't anymore. The thing that I don't get is why people who are not enjoying anything Coldplay do anymore are still around banging on about them. There's lots of other music out there, why waste precious time on something you don't like? Life's too short, move on and let it go.

The Keeper Thread
May I keep the fabulous unplugged "Us Against the World" from the Letterman gig on 9/20/11?

Magic moment....as was the minute of confusion before Chris decided to go off-mic.

Could Us Against The World Be About The Time Chris Kicked Will Out Of The Band?
OK, UATW unplugged just played on the Letterman show and Chris gave a little explanation. He said it's about the band and all the negativity aimed at them. Makes me love it all the more. I think it probably means a lot to them, personally.

[16-Sept-2011] Coldplay @ Austin City Limits Festival, Zilker Park, Austin, Texas
Wow, what a great show! My immediate impression -- how much I liked "Paradise" live and how good Chris sounded singing "Fix You" (before the crowd rush). He's sometimes a little pitchy but his voice was strong tonight. And, holy god, it must have been hot, he was pouring sweat. I know I'm probably alone but I'm glad they didn't do UIF & DLIBYH. Other than the summer festival songs, I don't want to hear anything more before the album drops. I'll be checking dimeadozen, for sure.

Paradise Live
I agree. Very pleased how it played live.

Need help convincing myself Coldplay isn't Super Poppy.
This whole thing is so ridiculous. Someone who cares what others think about their tastes, or those who feel the need to judge others by what they enjoy says more about their own insecurities than it does anything else. So many people find some kind of identity by the music they listen to, the movies they see, the books they read, the clothes they wear - as if they are somehow 'cooler' than others if their tastes aren't pedestrian. Just listen to what you like and ignore what you don't. And ignore those who try to tell you that you are somehow wrong. It's all bullsh!t.

Don't want to get too excited until I hear it will be available in the U.S.

Rolling Stone Magazine Short Preview on Mylo Xyloto
I think people are giving Eno too much power. I think the band made the album they wanted to make. They wanted to spread their musical wings and see what they could do. Some may feel they did too much but that was their choice, their artistic expression. I think that's the whole idea of this album. Look at the colors. Listen to the music. It's "over produced" on purpose. There is NOTHING subtle about this album and I think that was the plan right from the beginning -- art will always flourish, even in the direst of times.

What do you think of the new song 'Paradise'?
I had planned not to listen to it before buying the album, however, after all these comments I caved...planning to be bitterly disappointed. I am thrilled to say that I really, really like it! I don't listen to commercial radio so I don't know if it sounds like everything else. I like different artists for different things. I don't expect killer lyrics from Coldplay. I expect lovely melodies and this has that. On my first listen, that's what I hear--melody. And I'm a sucker for melody. Art, all kinds, is personal. We all hear & view things differently. Whether we like or dislike a song has nothing to do with its worth. The only thing that matters is our personal reaction to it. I'm not 14...I've got a son much older than most of you.
