  1. See You Soon "I'll be loving you always..."
  2. Agrees. Right now I think they will just let hard-core fans who can't get enough of them download and exchange on the net... It gives us something rewarding to do and they won't be accused of milking the fans. I just hope the recording companies don't interfere
  3. Anyone heard Amsterdam before it got released on AROBTTH? The album version is sooo good, but the live one (off Sydney live I believe) is just so bad... Thank goodness this band improves!
  4. My two cents... They need to be less commercial.
  5. Sounds like they originally intended to make a less blatant/commercial album... I like the names of these tracks much better than those on X&Y already. Any ideas on what happened?
  6. Finally the anti-thread... What took us so long  - How Jonny cycles through all the Edge-like riffs on Square One. And the accoustic ending. - The front accoustic/ quiet parts in What If, A Message. - Fix You- without that church organ - All of the rockish guitar parts (when they're not accompanied by Guy's campish bass), even when they "ruin" the song e.g. on A Message/What If... Also, I'm learning to appreciate the "camp-ish" baselines :P - The Kraftwerk riff in Talk - All the nice production touches (hit-or-miss on this album): spoons on Low, wind-tunnel sound at the beginning of Talk - The exhilarating piano at the beginning of The Hardest Part - Total rock tracks White Shadows and Low - How they "borrowed" off so many people and made the parts their own e.g. Radiohead's There There last two drum snaps in Square One, Karma Police (I think) in X&Y, Twisted Logic (another track off OK Comp) etc. - The un-ending spiralling melody of Swallowed In The Sea
  7. Don't know whether anyone's posted, but it's called keju here in Malaysia in Malay :)
  8. Unrelated to the title... But Europe is the western world (as well as USA and Australia & NZ)??? :P
  9. Hopefully then the government will realise this and listen to it's people. One problem I have with Bush is how he just disregards what other people say when he firmly believes something he's doing is right, even if what he does affects other people.
  10. I agree with Tom. It's easy to say they should have done this or that with hindsight. I really don't like this thing about shooting to kill, but I can't think of a better solution- it really pains me cause I'm very strong on civil liberties and individual rights- that guy did not deserve to die. My two cents: 1. Five rounds to the head: Come on, the policeman shooting him could have been nervous/psyched up, they don't do this routinely. Besides, the intent WAS to shoot to kill- 5 rounds, 2 rounds, heck even 1 might have been enough. But if he meant to kill, 10 rounds wouldn't have made a difference- the guy would have wound up dead. The shooter had to make sure he did it properly- there's no point trying to take him down and find out that he didn't do it properly and then allowing a potential bomb to go off... 2) Strong tranquilizers/stun guns might do it, but what about any residual side effects? From what I know, permanent paralysis of some sort is a distinct possibility... And I think the guns are less concealeable. 3) Giving warning shouts in itself is a risk. What if a the person was a bomber and decided to detonate himself there and then knowing he had been found out, or what if the bomber actually happened to be nearby? I think the police already tried their best to give the man his due rights without sabotaging themselves to upkeep public safety by warning him... they already took a big risk. Imagine if there was a bomb and it did go off... the police force would've been blamed left, right, front and center.
  11. Anything goes... Hey... you're nice too you know... the lone Republican here :P I like your avatar... It's interesting. They look so d'oh, who are they?
  12. I know that's what it says on the "lyrics" section... But it sure sounds like "I hope we get on..." to me. Neways, I prefer it :P
  13. Alright, I'll give you that... But think longer term. What if this "war against the terrorists" drags on? It looks likely Bush is going to have the war all the way until he steps down, what if his successor decides that the war still needs to go on until "all terrorists have been wiped out"? I can tell u the terrorists will keep on as long as the US continues its current foreign policy of being insensitive to other countries. This "war" could drag on for decades! What then?
  14. ^ 6.5/10 For reminding us to go deeper; for the pun ... But also because it's not so eye-catching :D
  15. I like bits and pieces of each song and my favourite keeps shifting... It goes out of reach when I try to analyse it. Making any sense here? But I'd say my most constant favourite is Square One... Coz it's so diverse - synth/atmospheric beginning with electronica, seguing into pure guitar blast-rock/classic new Coldplay sound (that's so smooth!), ending with a lovely, lovely heartfelt accoustic part which they do best! :D
  16. ^ Has a nice cartoonish avatar... Who is that?
  17. Re: d OMG not t he medical records, library records, bank records! crying out loud they might actually find a terrorist and save some lives! we dont want that at the expence of them seeing my medical records! stupid facist trying to protect us by invading our freedom, looking at my bank records! i'd rather be alive adn have them see what ive bought and how my health is then be dead and the goverment have no clue about those things! we saw what having no fear did, we ignored the terrorist over and over and they kept attacking, over and over. america isnt that afraid of terrorism. god forbid they look at some record of mine in order to protect me! Nick, ever heard of civil liberties  You seem almost willing to allow this country to become a police-state. Right on---thats what i been trying to explain----i am not willing to give up my rights and liberties because once u give it to them--u will not get it back----and no, its not for our protection----personally---i dont feel any safer---if anything---i feel more like a target than before :P your not willing to give up simple, meaningless civil rights, to be safe or the have other be safe? thats sad. in order to be safe were going to ahve to lose some minor rights. its a fact of life. just we cant lose too many and we should do what we can to avoid that. Have you ever lived in a place/country where the government DOES have access to your personal information/records? Ever felt the fear that what you say can and will be used against you... Even if it's just voicing an opinion? Where the media i.e. journalists have to think twice before criticising the government because they could lose their jobs (or worse get locked up someplace without needing trial/reason to be given) all in the name of national security? Try it out for awhile, and tell me you don't feel paranoid about the government monitoring/having access to everything about you... Civil rights e.g. personal privacy are NOT meaningless!
  18. Crest of Waves "I hope we get on..."

  20. Only Superstition I Ran Away Careful Where You Stand I Bloom Blaum Murder
  21. I know this was posted some pages back but I just gotta say this... Jonny looks like he's doing a cigarette ad! It's criminal that he looks sooo good with a fag in his mouth and wine glass in his hand... I don't know whether to be amused or alarmed :o :D :o ... :D ... :dizzy2:
