  1. i just realized i've never seen a pic of Chris and Gwyneth being affectionate where can i find a larger pic of your avatar? btw..i had a super crush on her after i saw the movie Se7en when i was 13 and it was perfect...them getting together. i get compared to Chris Martin a lot and i every time someone points that out...i get super excited. honestly, i think he's better looking but i guess there is some resemblance.
  2. Thank you, sir Really glad you enjoyed it.
  3. Short song but to the point I've been getting a decent amount of my song plays from this forum so i'd figure i'd continue to post here while i'm reaching new people. Hope you guys enjoy http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/hold-your-violence
  4. It's weird but on another forum...there was the question What song do you want played at your funeral? i picked 'Don't Panic' Coldplay it's kinda weird now that i think about it...that was the very first song of their first album i want played at the end of my soundtrack to the end of my life.
  5. ohh, that's that thing they call sarcasm.
  6. Viva La Vida..underrated? even if i really loved this song...i still would think it got the recognition it deserved (enough so that i never want to hear it again) however, when all that crap about Coldplay stealing the song ...my first thought was why in the hell would they steal THIS? it's one of my my least fav Coldplay songs i only say that because the above poster made me remember one that i must've covered up deep down in my psyche with hypnosis. :P To say underrated...i have to think of a song that i really love that not many others do love or that do not even think about when they hear Coldplay. Parachutes- Sparks AROBTTH- AROBTTH (jeez, i would kill to hear this song again live) X&Y- Twisted Logic Viva La Vida- Strawberry Swing (yes, it was a single but in an online poll it was voted least fav about a month after VLV came out) Mylo Xyloto- Up in Flames (as much as i love this song...it doesn't seem like it gets played live nearly enough and it's hardly in anyone's top 3 songs from the album)
  7. yes, johnny cash's version of 'hurt' is probably the all-time sad song for me. i've always been a nine inch nails fan and when i heard about that i wasn't happy really. but, seeing the video for the first time....i just broke down and wept. it was a last powerful statement of a man's life. coldplay's gravity..close 2nd.
  8. did you guys know that in POC there's a Sigur Ros sample looped throughout the song? i don't know what it is though...i just read that in today's paper about Mylo Xyloto.
  9. love it. great song. things i would change production-wise drums are mixed a bit too low vocals are awfully weighty (maybe cut all frequencies out below 100 hz) would help thin them a bit. i will say this..i hate soundcloud. i'm bandcamp all the way...i think soundcloud adds a layer of high frequency. maybe i'm crazy for thinking that. but, i also hate the way it shows the music waveform. have some surprise with the loud and soft parts...jeez i don't like how there's not the ability to dress up the page with the band's art. oh, and i hate the color scheme. orange and baby blue? really!? eww haha, anyway i was just gonna say before my tangent...i didn't notice any piercing high frequencies in your mix. so, yeah...that was nice.
  10. hey, i know what you're thinking, Hartroc. wait til you hear 'Called Out in the Dark' they brought their big boy pants for that album powerful stuff Corkus, nice list which made me forget 2 of my fav this year M83- 'Echoes Of Mine- btw...seeing M83 on halloween. Wilco- 'Art Of Almost'
  11. I think Car Kids IS Charlie Brown they mention kids in the lyrics boys and girls, etc.. Charlie Brown and all his friends were CARtoon KIDS
  12. Radiohead- The Butcher Coldplay- Princess Of China Snow Patrol- Called Out In The Dark Death Cab For Cutie- St. Peter's Cathedral Reeve Carney feat. Bono- Rise Above 1
  13. haha, aww thanks guys well, originally i was gonna call it 'Life' basically the lyrics have an overall theme about what's the lowest common denominator, showing your soul...or what's underneath, and giving into the current..the huge world that pushes us around everyday. we like to think we have control over our destiny. but that's just a way in which we flirt with our own idea of control. we have none. and the currents will have their say... so, 'Life' just seemed sorta bland as a title...and that's when i thought of the french saying that basically means 'That's Life' and it sorta fit even better. thanks for asking.
  14. This is more of what i would call my original sound. it's a bit more edgy than what was posted last time on here i realize it may not be as well received but i wanted to get a little feedback from Coldplay fans on how my harder sound comes off. I probably won't be posting another song on here until maybe one that is really Coldplay influenced (which does happen every few months or so) but, i did spend a month making this song. every guitar tone, reverberating noise, and drum hit was laboriously tested out before executed. and this is my baby so be gentle with her this is called 'C'est La Vie' thank you daniel http://kingdomofback.bandcamp.com/track/cest-la-vie
  15. actually every year i do a blog about what my fav movies are of the year and 500 days of summer was my fav one of that year... and that was a very difficult choice top runners up were Avatar, Inglorious Basterds, and Moon. and to both of you...watch 50/50 wonderful film and top contender for this year then watch Hescher as well...simply to see such a sharp contrast in Joseph Gordan Levitt's characters. that guy has some serious range as an actor. nothing but respect for him.
  16. I just think it doesn't make sense. If 'Car Kids' was a song that didn't make the final cut..why make it into shirts that everyone in the band wears? I kinda think that's just their uniform this time around. like the viva uniform was their homemade attire last time. i thought...maybe they'll start selling them but they didn't do that with the viva jackets and they could've so i doubt it. i think if it's not a song...it pertains to something about their overall concept with 'Mylo Xyloto'.
  17. I really like every song on there except 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart' and i don't hate that...it just doesn't do anything for me. sorta neutral about it.
  18. It's the next best thing to Parachutes/AROBTTH Coldplay It's the closest Coldplay have gotten since they've been trying to recapture the magic those albums had. It makes me believe music can do anything again. I'm 30 years old. I haven't felt that feeling in a long time.
  19. i really like it. i like the ending the most.
  20. blown away. that's all i've listened to so far off the album. i didn't expect it to be mixed so weird and awesome. eno really did a good job. he's making coldplay sound edgier yet without sacrificing feeling.
  21. scratchy effects? i work with bands, producing, etc..and i listen to music for 10 hrs out of each day. i know by saying this ..this is gonna automatically become some stupid internet squabble where you retort something very clever and blah blah blah... but, if you'll just take my word for it....the actual song ...the way it will sound on cd...will be vastly different. in fact..i can prove it. wait til the cd is leaked....and we'll compare how a quality version of POC sounds with this rip.
  22. i'll say it again... it's pointless. whether you have a 128 or 320 or wav file ...it's a radio rip and will sound like crap like this does.
  23. i can convert it into a 320 using switch program but i don't think it will matter in the least a 50 mb wav file if ripped from a radio will still sound like a radio quality song
  24. Con: It has a hip-hop beat much like Paradise i don't hate hip-hop but it's certainly following a very popular trend. becoming more commercial...i miss coldplay being a fetish ..rather than coldplay: the band everyone can love it's also very full of synths, etc.. not raw Pro: the melody...my god. and as full as it is....it's not covering a bad melody...it's supplementing a beautiful one. it really works and i love it. princess of chiny me love it me love it long timey.
  25. thanks guys i'm glad you enjoyed it. pianorocker, at first i wasn't sure what you were talking about..then i realized...it's just not intended to be hidden i guess. maybe it comes out like that because it's such a low frequency. but, any frequency really low ...i center it. not sure what you mean by "to the front" or back there's only one bass part. there's another percussion track where i'm hitting a conga drum maybe that's the culprit?
