  1. Well that's rather rude, isn't it, questioning people's dedication to the band for uploading it!? If the band really didn't want the song leaked they shouldn't have played it. We're in an age where social media and technology is so pervasive that it invades absolutely everything - they knew it would be leaked regardless of what was requested of the crowd. Each to their own, really. You may be unhappy its leaked, but I, for one, am quite happy it has. Midnight is different and I love it. Magic is a great song. Oceans and Another's Arms and Always in my Head will have to grow on me. Hearing this song has reaffirmed my belief the band can still make great music. Very glad to have heard it, and cannot wait to hear the studio version. If anything I'm looking forward to the album even more now.
  2. Coldplay to headline Radio 1's Big Weekend 23 April 2014 12:00 pm Band top the bill on Saturday, 24 May Good afternoon. We're very pleased to report that Coldplay will headline the Saturday night of Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday, 24 May. The free tickets for the event have already been allocated, but the show will be broadcast on the radio and online (where you'll be able to listen worldwide). For more information, head to the Radio 1's Big Weekend website. - Anchorman http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=1491
  3. Parachutes: Everything's Not Lost/Life is for Living AROBTHH: Amsterdam X&Y: Til Kingdom Come VLVODAAHF: Violet Hill PM: Life in Technicolor II MX: Every Teardrop is a Waterfall GS: Midnight
  4. See You Soon is better than most of the songs on Parachutes, beautiful tune.
  5. Gah, on holiday when they're in London... :(
  6. 1. Midnight 2. Magic 3. Always in my Head 4. Another's Arms
  7. Seeing these guys in Nottingham on the 14th... cannot wait!
  8. Pop is a damned good album... I'd rather MX be Coldplay's Pop than their No Line On The Horizon...
  9. As long as DAAoHF returns, I don't care.
  10. "Still believe in magic? Well yes I do", "I don't want anybody else but you", "I can't get over, can't get over you" - that SCREAMS out "can we fix this marriage"?
  11. This song has taken a completely different meaning now Chris and Gwyneth have separated...
  12. I don't wanna battle from beginning to end I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge I don't wanna follow Death and all of His friends.
  13. I love the operatic backing vocals in this! Of the two new songs we heard this morning, this one is the one I'm liking! It really shows off Chris' range.
  14. Really not sure about this one, have to be honest... But thanks for uploading Tash! I'll have to withhold my opinion until I hear the final album version.
  15. The first time I heard Magic I though "wow, this is brilliant!", whereas I thought the opposite of Midnight. Now, I like Magic a lot, but I like Midnight more. It's a gorgeous song. Atmospheric and haunting, something Coldplay should do more of.
  16. It's all coincidence, as the Oracle says. Violet Hill - violet as in the flower or the colour? And in that case, what came first - the colour orange or the fruit? I think people are looking into it a little too much.
  17. The first time I heard this song I though "what the hell?!", but I can honestly say it's growing on me. It's Coldplay, I've learned to love it. The thing I like about it is that it is so different to anything they've previously done. I don't want another AROBTTH. I want new music, and this is what they've delivered.
  18. Maybe this is the end of the album title = song title run - every LP release is named after an actual song. So either "ghost stories" is just the title of the album as a concept, OR there are b-sides to come. By the former I mean all of the songs are going to follow the Midnight route - sleepy, haunting vocals and minimalist backing. A lot of atmospheric guitar, very little bass.
  19. Love it love it love it. Reminds me of Madness of Muse. Minimalist, but so pleasant. It'd fit in on any of their albums.
  20. I think the album will have a decidedly Mexican theme, with Guy swapping his bass guitar for a pair of maracas, whilst the clothing theme goes along the lines of multicoloured ponchos and sombreros. The lead single will be called Huitzilopochtli, and will feature distinct, Nahuatl backing vocals and an Aztec sacrificial drumbeat, with Chris murmuring about the blood he's split on his jaguar-skin trousers.
  21. High Speed A Whisper Low Yes! (and I still like this song an awful lot, just an incredibly consistent album) Princess of China
  22. In that video of Atlas, I'm sure Chris said something like "we'll edit that out for YouTube"...
  23. SH BJLSHBF'FS \NV;HNZ# THEY ACTUALLY PLAYED ATLAS.
