What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Up In Flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaames.
-
Why doesn't this ever get played live?
This would work well as a snippet to Yellow.

Mad at setlist
Shiver, See You Soon, Everything's Not Lost, Strawberry Swing, Life in Technicolour II and Glass of Water would all slot quite nicely into almost any part of the setlist. The problem is the band have songs which are almost too 'dark' to fit the euphoric sense of joy that comes with the MX songs. If you played songs like Politik, What If?, Death and All His Friends etc, it just wouldn't fit in with the 'theme' of the setlist. Live concerts need cohesion and playing these sorts of songs would not fit well at all.

Has to be Warning Sign, surely?!

Xyloband starts glowing 3 days after concert
Wow... I was just listening to the Emirates bootleg and my Xyloband started lighting up during ETIAW! Its still on... no flashing or anything. I want it to stay on forever :(

The next single - which song will it be?
MX/HLH with two versions; a music video and a live video. Its all I'm asking for. Oh, and an EP. But that's another story.

Might be my favorite song from MX
MX is such a consistently strong album to me - for me, the opening four songs (MX, HLH, Paradise, CB) constitutes probably their strongest ever album opening. HLH is definitely a stand-out song when they perform live as well.

Favorite album opener/closer?
Going to be cheeky and say Life in Technicolor II even though its from an EP :D Best closer, for me, is UWTB.

[29-May-2012] Coldplay @ Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK
Guess there weren't many Coldplayers there then! For me it was an incredible spectacle of sound and vision. I've been to some amazing concerts in my time - U2, Foo Fighters, Oasis, Kasabian (they may not be the greatest band but they are superb live) - but this one tops them all. I've never been to a Coldplay gig before and I loved every single second of it. I was a little saddened by the fact they didn't change the setlist - I'd have given my left arm to hear a stomping rendition of Politik - but they pulled out all the classics and MX's best moments as well. GPASUYF was definitely the highlight. ETIAW is a great closer as well.

How has your view of MX changed?
When it came out, the obvious tracks were the stand-out ones - Charlie Brown, MX/Hurts Like Heaven, Every Teardrop, Paradise. But now I love the likes of Up With The Birds and Major Minus just as much. Still better than all their past albums (bar AROBTTH) to me.
-
Discuss: Charlie Brown single
I agree. The lack of physical releases for singles, as well as there being no b-sides, makes me think we're on to a winner with the idea of an EP, especially when you consider how well PM sold.

I absolutely love the LeftRightLeftRightLeft! version of it with Will singing it!

Parachutes nominated for HMV's Best British Album of the past 60 years
Got to be honest... voted for What's the Story, Morning Glory? as it is infinitely better than Parachutes in my personal opinion. Parachutes is great, but Morning Glory is an absolute masterpiece. If AROBTTH was on there, I'd have voted for that though!

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
If anything, recording a DVD increases the chances of an EP as it may well feature live songs, as sort of a Prospekt-LeftRightLeft hybrid.

LP6
As far as I'm concerned, with Viva La Vida you had Coldplay's The Unforgettable Fire. We thought we'd be getting their Joshua Tree next... but they skipped ahead instead we got their very own Achtung Baby. Not that I'm complaining - Achtung is my favourite U2 album, and MX is my favourite Coldplay album.

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
Pfft, like they 'sorted it out' when Barca got away with murder 3 years ago? This is karma.
