The World Of Music

i've been wondering , down here in portugal there're these great bands and they all sing in english, so why don't i spread the word about them... if anyone is interested in what i'm trying to say check out in kazaa bands like: silence 4 for with my friends or borrow old jerusalem with stroll or december sally lune with suicide (really superb) the gift with 5 minutes of everything coldfinger with anything....

Yikes, my first thread. Scary stuff. :o :D Anyway, I'm starting a shrine to Joni because she's great. I only recently discovered her - I heard "Woodstock" on the telly and instantly had to find out who it was. It has resulted in me buying albums of hers from anywhere and everywhere, which is often great because they're cheap. :P I don't like the whole 80's phase she went through though. I got "Dog Eat Dog" for Christmas and it's really bad. Oh, and who's that one who ripped off "Big Yellow Taxi"? Shame on them!

i need some help! me and my friends are deciding to make one but were all looking at different angles!! we dont have a name yet, we dont have all the essentials, we dont have a place to meet yet either!! and were having trouble decicing on the style of music again!! the pianist want a rock/pop/techno thing going on! ive never thought rock and pop sould ever be put together and noone else in the band care for techno! im doing the bass, and shes doing the piano, but i might end up as piano and she might end up as a gaurtarist!! she wants to get a key board when i already have a real piano out in my living room! besides i dont like the way the piano looks …

Great band!!! They opened up for Coldplay on all the Texas shows. One of the best bands I've ever heard live. Has anybody heard a song with a guy who "raps" and is rock-like in the corus while sing 'WHATEVEEEER'? Can't figure out who it is, but it's REALLY funny :D He sings something like: 'and then my friend came and he was like "what's up" and i was like, man whatever' Can't remember it. Anybody?

Ok i just wondered what peoples opinions on this man are...Coz im sure most of you have seen "the interview" or else heard about it... i think he is a very lonely person....and needs to have some friends his own age to bring him back to reality :shrug: altho i have a sympathetic attitude towards him now that i never used to have.. :?

Well it looks like the big battle this year will be Oasis v Coldplay! I'm really excited because these are two of my favourite bands but i just hope Oasis win the battle ... sorry guys!

If you had to choose just 1 cd to take with you on a derserted island (incl the discman of course) what would it be? AND COLDPLAY MAY OF COURSE NOT BE MENTIONED. Because that's everyones' first chose. nad not mixed cd's or soundtracks either, that's TO easy :D . I can't pick one, maybe Robbie Williams - Swing When You're Winning... I know, but it's really a feel good and happy cd! And if i'm alone on a freeking island in the atlantic ocean i would want to be happy! :lol:

I feel it inside me to really learn a instrument and write music. I play around and write "lyrics" but I don't have the musical talent to put it to music. Two years ago my parents got me a guitar for Christmas and I played around with it, but didn't get serious about it. Actually holding down the strings hurt my hands (I have really skinny hands). So, I got discouraged. But I have this bug in me to be creative in this way. My brother (who can pick up anything and learn it... I've nicknamed him Radiohead), says it's best to start with a keyboard. Does anyone have any opinions on this? I want to learn, but I want it to be easy to learn. Thanks~ 8) Jen

That Radiohead's new album is set to be released!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO-HOO!!! I can't wait to hear some of the new songs, but on dotmusic.com, they gave a track listing of 60 potential songs...THAT IS SOO COOL!!!! I CANNOT WAIT ANYMORE!!!! :D :-D :) 8) :lol:

THE GATHERING are a great band from Holland i do reccomend you to listen to HOW TO MEASURE A PLANET? a varied and experimental double-album,IF_THEN_ELSE a intense and emotional rock album and the new mini cd BLACK LIGHT DISTRICT,beautiful atmospheric and emotional music.

euh there 's something help beyond english music , there is a lot of shit french music of course but i'd rather you to listen to Françoise Hardy, a french singer so how to say 'melancolic' it's very great ! She's known in Gb for having sung with Damon Albarn! Another great french singer is Keren Ann !
