Yes - and it was Fran that actually took it, too!:D

I arrived at the venue only 45 minutes before the doors opened, but there was hardly anyone standing around, and I ended up first in the queue.

While we were waiting a guy from The Rascals (the first band on the bill), came out with his video camera and filmed the people out there, so that might end up online somewhere too.

I met a really nice couple in the queue and we ended up right in the middle in the first row (i.e. much better than we had in London).

Therefore we were right next to Fran when he came into the crowd, which means we must have ended up on film, as the whole event was recorded for German TV.

After the gig we had only been out in the car park for a couple of minutes when the band came out to get into their people carrier.

Unbelievable, we were the only ones waiting and therefore we got them all to our ourselves!

Fortunately the camera worked for once, as Fran said he was cold (the temperature was at zero, hence my hat) and needed to get into the car.

So everything couldn't have worked out better!!

Yes, and Fran said he didn't really know much about forthcoming shows but that he thought there would be more German shows in February. I wouldn't take that as read, though.

The show was fantastic from start to finish. Very relaxed atmosphere (not packed so very easy to move in and out of the hall between acts for refreshments etc.).

The first band (The Rascals) came on at 5.30pm and then came Glasvegas, Fleet Foxes, Donavon Frankenreiter (they turned out to be fantastic)

and Ben Folds, before Travis came on shortly before 11.30pm.

They did about 75 minutes including the encore, and were on great form again.

I also felt more energetic than I did in London, probably because I hadn't queued for very long.

this sucks SO much, seriously.

why hamburg on the 5th?? no way. i have only three exams this semester, but psychology is on the 5th. in the afternoon. and since it takes three hours to go to hamburg, i can't make it in time.

come on, this can't be true...

 

so now i need to see a doctor the day before and hope he'll give me a medical certificate, so that i can write this stupid exam a few weeks later.
