For the record, I still say David Morrissey should be the next Doctor Who. :smug:

Good ep. Much better for Christmas than last year. :nice:

The Davids looked like they had fun together. Nice to see them not fighting with each other over a girl for a change...

YouTube - Bits of Blackpool 1 - These Boots

I caught up with the Christmas special today, and it was very good indeed.

No slapstick in sight!!:D

I've been searching for the video of this on youtube, but it's been removed... But anyway, in David Tennant's video diary, there's one part where Daylight is playing in the background! Not the soundtrack, David Tennant is actually listening to AROBTTH as he films  :wacky: Now he's even more awesome!

If anyone finds that video, let me know!

Space Cadet, where do you watch the shows? I've been trying to find the confidentials online, but I've been unsuccessful :(

Glad you liked the humor for a change :nice: I take it you don't count giant steampunk robots as slapstick then...

I like a good bit of steampunk every now and then, but I still haven't quite figured out what to make of that...

What on earth is a steampunk??:dozey:

Jonny Rotten in disguise??

uh... it's victorian-style scifi with steam and gears and hot air baloons and stuff. :uhoh:

Steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often set in Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" of such technology as dirigibles or analog computers; these frequently are presented in an idealized light, or a presumption of functionality.

Steampunk is often associated with cyberpunk and shares a similar fanbase and theme of rebellion, but developed as a separate movement (though both have considerable influence on each other). Apart from time period and level of technological development, the main difference between cyberpunk and steampunk is that steampunk settings usually tend to be less obviously dystopian than cyberpunk, or lack dystopian elements entirely.

Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual craftpersons into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk.

Hee. :nice: I noticed that too. It's in the season 2 dvds. He likes a lot of current music- a surprising amount for how much of a workaholic he supposedly is. ...But it will always take a back seat to the Proclaimers who he never stops talking about.

For once the speculators got it half right:

Official Easter special spoiler:

Doctor Who role for ex-EastEnder

Former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan and comedian Lee Evans will guest star in Doctor Who's Easter special, the BBC has confirmed.

Ryan will play the mysterious Lady Christina de Souza in the special episode, entitled Planet of the Dead.

"I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who and very excited to be joining David Tennant and the Doctor Who team," she said.

Evans plays a character called Malcolm, whose life becomes connected to the Doctor's in unusual circumstances.

Planet of the Dead is the first of four Doctor Who specials, marking the end of David Tennant's tenure as the Time Lord.

'Can't wait'

Ryan is best known for playing Zoe Slater in the BBC One soap and starring in the American remake of Bionic Woman.

Recently, there has been speculation that she could be cast as the Doctor's new assistant, when Tennant's replacement, Matt Smith, takes on the role next year.

It is not known whether this appearance rules her out of that role - Catherine Tate's character Donna Noble first appeared in a Doctor Who Christmas special 15 months before she returned as the Doctor's assistant.

Ryan said: "It is such a fantastic show and I can't wait to get started."

Executive producer and writer Russell T Davies said: "Michelle is one of the most sought-after young actors in the country and we are delighted to announce that she will be joining the team.

"As always the script is being kept strictly under wraps. However, we can reveal that Lady Christina is a woman with a mysterious past who's going to have a huge impact on the Doctor."

Filming on the episode has already begun in Wales. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7844899.stm

I made a Doctor Who group if you want to join! ;)

I made one a while ago and no one joined it... :laugh3:

We do need a group, though. I hope you don't mind Alyssa, but I just joined the latter one since it was more general, and you know with the whole staff change and all...

For once I really hope one of the crackpot rumors from the Sun is true... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article2175561.ece

I really hope there's a familiar face around when he regenerates... for his sake and mine.

Meanwhile in Dubai it looks like things are going a bit haywire (again rumor, sorry. But amusing) Doctor Who's New Vehicle Has Already Crashed
