right.. he also didnt believe in any other form of 'man made' birth control... it still doesnt take away from what a great man he was. Like I mentioned before... I dont agree with ALOT of things the church says.. (abortion, homosexuality, birth control etc..) but it still doesnt change my view on the Pope.. he was a great religious leader.. and his shoes will be difficult to fill.

they are currently moving his body to St Peter's Basilica... quite impressive.. and sad.

Maybe if you actually read what people said about the Pope in this thread, you would not have made such comments about him, but that is asking too much of you.

Go ahead ignore me, like I care.

People make him out to be a god, hes not god, there is only one God, and hes not him, and catholics,( And the pope was a catholic) They pray to "Mary" and other idols which is a graven image, So that means that since The Pope was a catholic he prayed to Mary and Other idols, the Bible says (Exodus 20:4) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, There are more chapters too.. ah, heres a good one, (Leviticus 26:1) Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, niether rear you up a standing image, niether shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God. The Bible says, For I am the Lord your God, And I dont think the Pope wrote the Bible if im not mistaking, Now, Since the Bible says in like a hundred different places that Bowing down to idols is an abomination, and The Pope bowed down to idols, The Bible is always right, so you cant say im wrong casue im quoteing out of the Bible.

like justine said, go and educate yourself a lil bit on the topic and then come back and post comments. hopefully they`ll make some more sense :)

he was also against people having casual sex for that matter.

Because the Bible can be pretty hypocritical at times.

Well said. I'm not a religious person at all though I was brought up a Roman Catholic. Wasn't sure what to make of a lot of the Pope's views however I did respect him for his strength and for not being afraid to upset people to gain progress. And also for getting a pair of shades off of Bono

Anyway I sat in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow on Sunday morning. They have a white wall there dedicated to his visit to that park in 1982. I remember it being a scorcher and I also got the day off school (yayyyyyy! ). I was just curious as to what sort of tributes, if any, had been left there. Its right on the top of a small hill and I must have sat there for about an hour watching people coming and going and paying their respects and praying. It was pretty humbling really if I'm totally honest. I think the best thing anyone can say about him is that he really believed and tried to make the world a better and safer place for us and for our kids. He brought religions together where they were divided before.

Next time I'm in that park it will be the Coldplay gig!!

Yeah, there's absolutely no way to talk "sence" into me. :)
