Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

So jealous! You canadian people are too spoilt when it comes to Arcade Fire.. oh wait

Have fun! And send kisses to Richard for me :charming:

Just bought the Suburbs for the third time! 2nd time in less than a week!

Outside Lands schedule has finally been released. Definitely looking forward to The Decemberists transitioning into AF on the same stage.

Bought it when it came out.

Bought the vinyl at their show Thursday.

The Arcade Fire was so awesome live! I saw them last night in Copenhagen, and it was amazing. :dazzled:

I saw them yesterday in Amsterdam. Every time I get blown away, what an amazing band, such enthousiasm, and great music!!!

The audience was f*.... dull though, such a shame. "We Used To Wait" was a big hit on the dutch radio, so there were probably a lot of people who didn't know them very well. I wasn't surprised that it took the band 4 years to return to Holland, with such a boring audience.

The band itself was great, no doubt about it! Win asked the audience on the seats to please stand up, so they would receive their energy, but most people just sat down.

Afterwards the band already left the stage, but Win gave a setlist to somebody and after that he threw this into the audience...

Yay!! :D:D

The setlist was almost torn apart because 2 other people and me were holding it at the same time, but eventually the others let go. I'm so happy!

Was there any support acts before Arcade Fire? Also what time did the show start. Hope it's not too late as I'm seeing them on Thursday!

The supporting acts was a Danish band called The William Blakes

The William Blakes started to play at 20:00 and Arcade Fire began at 21:30. :nice:

They played where I lived last friday and i couldn't go... :( I think they're great!

Thanks for that Phoebeo! Think I'll have to catch the last train from 11.30 then! It's at Edinburgh Castle so it's only 10 minute walk away from the station so I should be just fine.

Saw Arcade Fire tonight at the castle. One of the best experiences of my life. Really incredible.

I'LL GIVE YOU A MILLION DOLLARS FOR THAT TAMBOURINE!

It's my final offer.

That gig must have been so wonderful! Please pictures if you took some

I will definitely post up some and maybe a few videos but it may not be for a couple of weeks as I'm going away. But it certainly was a wonderful setting for a great gig. They let of the cannons and all at the end of the show as well! Surpassed the Coldplay gig I was at a few years back. They were amazing and everything I expected of them!

also found this randomly on youtube of them covering The Smiths Still Ill which is one of my favourite songs by them! They do such a great job of it especially Richard on guitar. Great to see Regine on the accordian...as always!

I've lost all faith in this band if they proceed to create more albums in the vein of The Suburbs without their eccentric instrumentation.

I don't know how people get the idea that The Suburbs is a poor album.

It's only poor in comparison to its predecessors. Neon Bible and Funeral are leagues beyond The Suburbs, it's like comparing Bossanova to Doolittle and Surfer Rosa by Pixies. :\

Neon Bible isn't in my opinon.

The Suburbs has some subpar moments like Rococo, but there still are a lot of great songs. Overall, I like the album.
