Arcade Fire

Not surprised at all. I'm not being anti English at all but there's no doubting that Scottish and Irish crowds are a whole lot more passionate than English crowds. Must be something about Celtic blood. ;)

I'm pretty sure Scotland was an Irish colony ;D

...You are welcome.

Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

This guy who is like in love with one of my friends, keeps lending her CDs that I love...This week he lent her all the Arcade Fire albums...She's a lucky girl

People don't like the Suburbs? :o

It's probably my favorite AF album. :wacky:

But I really like Funeral and Neon Bible too.

Same here!

We Used to Wait > Rococo > Ready to Start

No disrespect to RTS, but it's lousy as a live opener.

And Sprawl II vids = Lovely. <3

It's not a lousy opener, it's the best possible one.

I bought my first Arcade Fire album (Suburbs) this week on the power of Sprawl 11. Love that song. I saw them in Moncton, Canada this past summer. Incredible energy live. Like the album overall but I find parts of the middle of the album slow. Sounds like I need to check out Funeral from the comments on this thread

I love this cover

But why do I feel guilty about loving this cover so much? :uhoh:

It's the lead singer of the band Phanton Plant, you know the one who sang that song california which was in the OC I think.

I hate when that happens D; hopefully you'll still be a fan when they come back.

Waiting for that... :wacky:

Are they already recording a new album?

Completely different to their previous albums. Wutttt. It is good, though, and I like the change in sound.

The video doesn't work any more. :\

I don't think this is their "new direction". Win said they tried writing a song especially in the spirit of the film.

Yeah, I doubt it's an indicator of Album 4's direction, though I wouldn't necessarily mind if they did take this path and ran with it.

I think it's a decent song, though not quite album-worthy, so perfectly acceptable as a song to a film soundtrack.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpCVbUM9wdE]Arcade Fire in Haiti - YouTube[/ame]

Footage we took (ourselves, with some also by Bec Rollins from Partners In Health) on trips to Haiti... March 2011 visits to PIH sites, February 2012 visits across the country (including PIH and Kanpe sites and Kanaval in Jacmel). The last little bit of singing is by Ti Zwazo, who works as a gardener for PIH. He opened for us and RAM when we played in Cange last year.

Nice one, make a video about Arcade Fire in Haiti which is a band who have a stand out song called "Haiti", and use one of their shit new songs.

Nice one.

Arcade Fire tube:

BREAKING! Jeremy Gara (Arcade Fire's drummer) said over the weekend the new Arcade Fire album coming out "possibly this year". Wow!

Now let's bring this thread back to life again!

New song, "Crucified Again". Look it up, I can't embed the link at the moment.
