Arcade Fire

Also Haïti and Black Wave :wacky:

I love both, but I tend to skip the first three songs off Neon Bible. I don't know why really because it's not like they are bad. They just don't appeal as much to me as the rest of the album. I also have a preference for Funeral because I like the sound better and overall I think most songs are better as well. Neon Bible has a couple of really strong songs though. It's a close call. :\

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

This!

I love when they speak french in their songs

Actually I find it a bit odd sometimes, I don't know why ! I love Black Mirror for instance but everytime it goes "Un deux trois, dis mirroir noir" I'm like :wtf: haha! Anyway I usually hate music with french lyrics  All the french artists I listen to sing in english (Phoenix, etc).

Une Annee Sans Lumiere

I love that title !

"Ne dis pas à ton père qu'il porte des oeillières" :laugh4: !! So freaking weird !

I remember the first time I head the song, I had no idea they were going to sing in french and I was like "wait, WHAT? Am I hearing things???" Besides, his accent is so strong that it's not that obvious at first!

Yeah it's kinda odd, but he's got a really cute accent :wacky:

Haha same here, I can't stand french music with french lyrics, but I like when english bands sing in french :nice:

Oh, this song is so beautiful!

Also Haïti and Black Wave :wacky:

Aw I love Haïti so much (even the french parts!) but I kinda dislike the first half of Black Wave, I often skip that part.

Really? I love the first three songs of Neon Bible!

Boooo at french music with french lyrics *high five* :D !

The part where Win starts to sing (about halfway through the song) is probably one of my favourite Neon Bible moments.

I love the French part in Une Année because it's so weird (and seemingly random). :D

I don't mind music in French, but in Dutch on the other hand.. *shudder*

Yes ! Exactly ! I always skip the first half but never the second half, that part is sooo powerful (*shivers*)! I wish it was a single song.

You probably love it because you don't understand it ! See, that's the same thing for you with dutch...

I do understand French. Not everything of course, but in a song probably 50% or something. If I really pay attention. :nice:

And we truly have the worst of the worst music. :disappointed:

Oops my bad ! C'est génial ! You should come visit us in the french thread sometimes

Oh trust me french (with french lyrics) music is probably as bad ! :disappointed:

Actually writing a message in French would probably be too much of an effort. :sweatdrop:

I think the problem is that the words sound so cheesy. :wacky: (so I'm really glad I'm not an English native speaker )

oh yeah I see. Tant pis ! lol

Yeah totally ! I'm really glad too ! It's like we understand all the english lyrics but we don't get that cheesy feeling like we do when it's in our mother language. Perfect balance :D

Poor english native speakers :P I wonder how they can ignore that feeling...

I prefer Funeral to Neon Bible, although there are tracks on both that I love.

Haiti is my favourite Arcade Fire song, hands down. I absolutely love the whole thing.

Wake Up is easily my favourite. especially the live version, gives me goosebumps every time. and then u have the trailer for where the wild things are.

It's weird, I didn't like Funeral at first, but I liked Neon Bible right away.

Now I love Funeral, but I can't stand Neon Bible. And I didn't over-listen to it or anything like that.

Yep, it's cute! :nice:

I'm trying to find an exception but really I can't^^

So *high five*

I've been wondering this for years!

They must have a totally different way to appreciate music, eh I'm glad I'm french

Both Funeral and Neon Bible are great albums, but I'd have to agree with the general consensus in that I like funeral more.

Also I'm obsessed with the song The Suburbs... I can't stop listening to it...haha! I think what really hooks me in besides the piano/guitar rhythm is the bass, and also the subtlety of the thermin/ondes sound during the chorus.

I'm more into Funeral too though I still love Neon Bible.. and No Cars Go is still one of my absolute favourites and it was the first song I listened to :P

I'm kinda suprised that their tickets for their concert here haven't sold out yet..they don't even have that many tickets but I guess Finns really do have a shitty taste in music more often than not  I was just expecting them to sell out right away

Are you going?

I wish they'd announce something (relatively) close.. So far, Rock en Seine is my only sort of option.

i'm just going to pop in here and say what has probably already been said.. the two new tracks are AMAZING (especially "the suburbs") and i can't freaking wait for the album to be released.

^What do you think of the new songs Dave?

I know you weren't a big fan of Neon Bible.

Something about The Suburbs is quite fascinating.. I really like it.

I actually like The Suburbs more than Month of May. Can't wait for the new album.

They are. :D I've already seen them twice in 2007 :nice:

I guess you can't really call it a venue, but the place they are playing at in Finland looks amazing. :wacky:
