Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

^What do you think of the new songs Dave?

I know you weren't a big fan of Neon Bible.

I mellowed to Neon Bible after a few listens, although Funeral I found was better, the new songs are nice :)

So are most people around here preordering or not. I was condering getting the vinyl poster pacakge. Anyone else's thoughts?

I'll probably just get the album at a local record store. Or Amazon. :shame:

Shipping costs = bleh.

$12.99 plus shipping compared to £8.99 from amazon with free next-day delivery

Ooh you're gonna see them live, that's awesome Jo!

I actually prefer Month of May.

hmm... i think you are the first one i've seen so far who has said that.

The Suburbs is the one in which the piano is a little bit louder?

The Suburbs seems like a weak, pop-ish and threshed ballad. Month of May, on the other hand, sounds fresh and although repetitive, exciting. (Forget about lyrics, in that case Month of May at first take seems dull). I admit, however, I love the way Butler sings sometimes I can't believe it I'm moving past the feeling

the problem I have with Month of May is that to me it doesn't have too many hooks to it. I mean it may be a song that I might love later on, but from the initial listens i've given so far it hasn't made such a great impression as The Suburbs.

I'd have to disagree with it beinga weak ballad. IMO the piano and guitar are very catchy with the melody, but it is the bass that really help make the song more catchy.

The bass is actually outstanding, still both piano and guitar bore me with their repetitive hooks. Month of May is not catchy, but it's full of energy.

I could see that... Month of May is definitely full of energy.

I just though can't stop listening to The Suburbs... it's so catchy.

What are some of your favorite Arcade Fire songs Ricardo?

Neighborhood 1, Rebellion, Une anée sans lumière, Wake Up, No Cars Go, Intervention and My Body is a Cage.

May seem a little bit caché but they are actually popular for something.

ah nice! I like most of those songs. Intervention I sort of got tired of after of after a while. My favorites are: The Well and the Lighthouse, Black Mirror, Neighborhood #3, No Cars Go, Rebellion, Haiti, My Body is a Cage, My Heart is an Apple, Neighborhood #1, as well as many others.

Although it lacks the cohesion and fluency of Neon Bible, my fav album is Funeral, and yours?

I think it's everyone's favourite. Neon Bible it's gloomy, dark and fluid, but Funeral is epic and raw

yeah. I definitely find Neon Bible to be a lot more dark.

Funeral is one of those albums that everyone seems to love or has as their favorite arcade fire album.

I doubt they will ever release something like that. Well, I'm saying this after listening to these 2 last songs.

But there still is a small minority who prefer neon bible including meeeeeee!

It's a more rock n roll type record and that's my type of music. Of course I would never put down funeral. If I were to give neon bible a 9.4 then funeral would be a 9.3. Not much in it but a clear winner.
