Nettie
And they're so young! It's amazing! Absolutely amazing! Like a Rock Opera. I could just see them putting this on stage with the prostitutes and the coppers and the discos and taxi ranks and everthing. I'd pay to watch that!

Nettie
IBYLGOTDF is my ode to Guy Berryman... I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor Stop making the eyes at me, I'll stop making the eyes at you And what it is that suprises me is that I don't really want you to And your shoulders are frozen (cold as the night!) Oh, but you're an explosion (you're dynamite!) Your name isn't Rio, but I don't care for sand And lighting the fuse might result in a bang, b-b-bang-o! I bet that you look good on the dancefloor I don't know if you're looking for romance or I don't know what you're looking for Well, I bet that you look good on the dancefloor Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984 From 1984! I wish you'd stop ignoring me, because it's sending me to despair Without a sound, yeah, you're calling me, and I don't think it's very fair That your shoulders are frozen (cold as the night!) Oh, but you're an explosion (you're dynamite!) Your name isn't Rio, but I don't care for sand Lighting the fuse might result in a bang, b-b-bang-o! I bet that you look good on the dancefloor I don't know if you're looking for romance or I don't know what you're looking for Well, I bet that you look good on the dancefloor Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984 From 1984! Oh, there ain't no love, no Montagues or Capulets Are just banging tunes and DJ sets and... Dirty dancefloors, and dreams of naughtiness! Well, I bet that you look good on the dancefloor I don't know if you're looking for romance or I don't know what you're looking for Said I bet that you look good on the dancefloor Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984 From 1984! Nettie
 From The Ritz To The Rubble  Last night these two bouncers And one of em's awright The other one's the scary 'un His way or no way, totalatarian He's got no time for you Looking or breathing How he don't want you to So step out the queue He makes examples of you And there's nowt you can say Behind they go through to the bit where you pay And you realise then that it's finally the time To walk back past ten thousand eyes in the line And you can swap jumpers and make another move Instilled in your brain you've got something to prove To all the smirking faces and the boys in black Why can't they be pleasant? Why can't they have a laugh? He's got his hand in your chest He wants to give you a duff Well secrectly I think they want it all to kick off They want, arms flying everywhere and Bottles aswell it's just Something to talk about A story to tell you Well I'm so glad they turned us all away we'll put it down to fate I said a thousand million things that I could never say this morning Got too deep, but how deep is too deep? This town's a different town today This town's a different town to what it was last night You couldn't have done that on a Sunday That girl's a different girl today Said that girl's a different girl to her you kissed last night You couldn't have done that on a Sunday [of course not] Well I'm so glad they turned us all away we'll put it down to fate I thought a thousand million things that I could never think this morning Got too deep, but how deep is too deep? Last night what we talked about It made so much sense But now the haze has ascended It don't make no sense anymore

coldplay_steph
Bought the album today, bloody fantastic!!! A few tracks are a little bit 'samey' but apart from that I have no complaints!!! What a debut and a half!!!

clocks-politik
hmmm i heard them but i didnt really like it so much...and no i posted this in november, i had only heard IBTYLGOTD... after i listened to that a few times i got the lyrocs stuck in my head and decided to check out some more of there stuff, to make a long story short, the arctic monkeys are GRRRRRREAT frosted flakes great
Black Rose
The album is good, but IMO it is overeted and overhyped. Their is room for improvement, but giving it a 10/10 won't go down well with the band because they know they have to improve on it with the next album, and it will keep coming back to them, that their 2nd album isn't as good as their debut. But I prefer a bit of Word Gets Around :)
*Sarah*
I guess I'm gonna buy the album next week, as the live tracks I've already heard are great...
coldplay_steph
Hmm, the more i've listened to it, the more I have noticed the differences to the demo's I'd loved so much....its sounds so much more produced, not as raw. But hey, I guess thats the way things go. Still love it though. :) And clocks-politik, I agree, its's frosted flakes grrrrreat!
clocks-politik
i dont have the album cause it hasnt been released over here, now i have to wait like a month, and i dont want to download it cause that just wouldnt be right
corgi1998
just my opinion but the album is just all the same all the way through no direction or change quite boring after 5 songs
stemot1978
just my opinion but the album is just all the same all the way through no direction or change quite boring after 5 songs Heh, same thing could be said for X & Y  , Anyway, they`ve smashed the record all the way to number 1 this week, so they now hold the record for fastest selling debut album ever in the UK, good on em I say, bout time someone with talent knocked Hear`say from that top spot. As for being the same all the way through, couldn`t disagree with you more, how are tracks like "Riot Van", "Mardy Bum" and "Sun Goes Down" in any way the same as "Ritz To The Rubble" and "Fake Tales Of San Fransisco"? Easily the best album of the year so far, although We Are Scientists album really is the bollocks!
fudge
look who I saw on Friday in Glasgow :D MADNESS!!!! People were going nuts! Also saw Maximo Park (who I've seen before) and they were fan-bloody-tastic! Monkeys are good but not yet developed their stage presence. That Paul Smith - what a mover! :D
