April 23, 200323 yr Does anyone like this wonderful band? They are my favourite band, I adore them. Billy Corgan, much respec, James Iha, much respec, D'arcy, much respec, and I love Jimmy Chamberlin. I cant drum for shit and I find it hard to recognise drumming patterns so when I hear Jimmy Chamberlin its just so refreshing, the mans a fucking genius. Corgan and Iha were two people who just happened to meet eachother, and thats amazing, what are the odds of two people who formed an ultimate musical alliance, just meeting eachother? The guitar work is excellent. And D'Arcy just adds to that. Ive been listening non stop to Mellon Collie, Adore, Siamese Dream, Machina, Pisces Iscariot, everything, I love it all. Rock on Pumpkins, rock on. PS I realise they have broken up, I love Zwan too.
April 23, 200323 yr eww...Billy Corgans new band SUCKS! A friend and I went around saying "lets smash pumpkins at him and yell smashing pumpkins smashing pumkins" I think The smashing pumkins aren't bad...some songs i like...and my sister likes them a lot..
April 24, 200323 yr i adore ;) smashing pumpkins, favorite songs would have to be stand inside your love, ava adore, tonight, 1979, today, and couple other songs that i cant remember name of. I havent heard them in a while but i have to go check out Zwan, ive heard about it but havent got the chance to listen to them.
April 24, 200323 yr Love the Smashing Pumpkins!! They were actually the band that turned me into a true fan of rock music..hahaha...they're ace... I was listening to Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness last night as a i puked my brains out and realized that album is.....fantastic to listen to when you're puking your brains out.. :D I have the box set with all the rarities but haven't listened to it for a while, i think i'll do that now.. :)
April 24, 200323 yr I'm a big Smashing Pumpkins fan as well. Some of their more heavy work I am not so keen on (their Machina period) but their early work and Mellon Chollie are amoung my favourite records - absolutely superb band - it's such a shame they split but they had some of the best of it and long live Zwan - they have had a very promising start :D
April 24, 200323 yr Hah' date=' a Coldplay fan saying that Zwan suck, now Ive seen it all.[/quote'] whats the matter with that? huh...
April 25, 200323 yr Author My point was it was funny to see someone who likes music that is made my try hard school boys who dress up in Radiohead wigs to play college pop jingles has the skulluvit to call Zwan bad, a band who blend beautiful melodies through 3 guitarists, an excellent Jazz drummer, classicly trained of course, and the excellent Paz on Bass and other classical instruments such as Piano and the violin. Thats all. I was just listening to Machina, I wouldnt say its heavier though, you might wanna check it out. Its just a bit heavier synthesized but it definately wouldnt put you off (Its one of those albums that you have to listen out for for a little while, a patience album) Adore is much the same.
April 25, 200323 yr hmm, i'm not convinced by the agression of your argument Reilly. experience and technical prowess does not necessarily correspond to better music - and its a shame to see you taking such a superior attitude because lets face it thats exactly what alianates bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead from the collective masses when they feel that technical development is favoured over actual musical delivery. ironically the whole point off Zwan was to create a fresh outlook and go back towards basic roots so maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge m8. :)
April 25, 200323 yr and i personally do find Machina fairly heavy and quite "fuzzy" for use of a word - thats not to say that i dislike it, i just like their more melow period far more :D
April 26, 200323 yr Author hmm' date=' i'm not convinced by the agression of your argument Reilly. experience and technical prowess does not necessarily correspond to better music - and its a shame to see you taking such a superior attitude because lets face it thats exactly what alianates bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead from the collective masses when they feel that technical development is favoured over actual musical delivery. ironically the whole point off Zwan was to create a fresh outlook and go back towards basic roots so maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge m8. :)[/quote'] I honestly could not make out one word of that  From what I DID get, true, experience and technical prowess does not mean better music (Although I never actually SAID that, but anyway) just look at Iron Maiden. Hahaha. The 2nd sentence, a superior attitude was exactly what alienated bands like Pumpkins and Radiohead from the 'collective masses'- OK Im lost again. I think what you were trying to say is that many people favour technical ability over musical delivery? If thats what you were trying to say then Im still lost. Yes, very lost.
April 26, 200323 yr I've heard a couple of songs of them that I actually have somewhere in my pc, but I haven't bought any albums from them. How many albums do they have?
April 27, 200323 yr Does anyone like this wonderful band? They are my favourite band, I adore them. Rock on Pumpkins, rock on. PS I realise they have broken up, I love Zwan too. *Note the nickname I use* SP were my fave band probably up until 1999...had they still been around, this'd be the 10th year i've been into them. As for Zwan...I guess they're okay, but old favourites die hard..
August 25, 200322 yr My favorite song by them is Tonight Tonight, or Zero. I don't much like their later stuff. Adore is my least favorite album. What are your favorite tunes?
August 25, 200322 yr wow.. Smashing Pumpkins... Siamese Dream is my favorite album by them.. probably cause thats when I discovered them and it brings fond memories. :D
August 25, 200322 yr a lot of people think that Machina is a bad album. But I thought it was good. Stand Inside Your Love is a good tune.
August 25, 200322 yr yeah... thats the thing... w/ later Pumpkin albums... they weren't "all the way through" good.. they had just a few fantastic songs. Like Adore... what was that song "For Ava?" or something.. where he singing "you make me real"... what an incrediable song!!! So beautiful!
August 25, 200322 yr Eva Adore? yea, that one was good. After they kicked Jimmy Chamberlain out because of him being a druggy, the Pumpkins weren't really as good as they were.
