is it really that rare..dang i knew it was rare but i didn't know so few copies were made..i got a great deal then. i got it for 5 dollars.

 

Brothers & Sisters was released twice.

 

The first release, in 1999, was on the Fierce Panda label and only 2500 copies were made.

 

It was then re-released in 2002/03 on the Sixthman label, this version is more common and generally not considered a rarity for collectors.

^^^ Something else about the Brothers & Sisters releases--the CDs are different. I didn't realize this 'til my 1999 UK release arrived (far right -- 2003 US release is in the middle) I believe the 2003 UK release looks the same but I'm not sure.

- 2002 Fierce Panda re-issue (Ning 68cd)

- Brash music Fierce Panda re- release (US) (BRH1023-2 )

- Sixthman Fierce Panda Release (US) (SXM2-61023)

 

thre's are just the ones i'm quite sure of, since the sixthman release was deleted and probably re-issued again, but i need to check that out.

 

conclusion, yes the original UK release of Brothers and Sisters is quite rare :P

well just as i gave up hope ever finding a 'what if ' single, I end up coming across one in a local cd shop :o:D

( + the japanese speed of sound cd single, which cost me more than the what if single :p )

they also had a few promo cdsingle and a lot of bootlegs from their concerts in Belgium too, if i earn some more money i'm definately going back there !

Are you sure of this? I know of only 2 versions: the original and the re-release.

 

The re-release has a Fierce Panda logo on it, a Brash Music logo, BRH 1023-2 and SXM2-61023). So I figured they were the same.

 

Edit: The 7" version has to be the most rare edition.

 

Edit2: On eBay I found indeed the Sixthman version, wich has a Sixthman logo instead of a Brash Music logo. The EAN is the same though. So what is the difference between the 1999 en 2002 Fierce Panda releases?
