I never really understood the usage of acetate promo's and never collected any.

 

I've seen it before (maybe on eBay, maybe you posted it earlier?). Yeah, it doesn't look very legit. But neither does this acetate promo of What If:

An acetate disc (also known as a test acetate, lacquer, or transcription disc) is a type of gramophone record that is recorded directly from an audio source. Although acetates can be made from any audio source, they are typically produced from a master tape recording for testing the quality of the tape-to-disc transcription. A typical acetate disc is an aluminum disc, 10 or 12 inches in diameter, that is covered with a thin coating of nitrocellulose lacquer in which the sound groove is cut. Discs of this type can be played on any normal phonograph. Some acetates are highly prized for their rarity.

Actually, it's a CDR.... I think it is possible that the term "acetate" is now use to describe a "cd test", but I'm not sure..

The US Version sold those last Monthe between 45-60 $ And the EU (generally Sealed) for about the same price. It's strange but the japanese promo sold for fewer prices ( about 25-30 $. Don't know why...

Right I didn't read well :). In a general way Most EU I saw where sold for a higher price than the other version. I'd say you have to count about 60$ w/ shiipping. I paid mine 60$ include shippig cost, but if you're lucky, you can find it for 40$ sealed. Depends. The Us wher sold once for 100$ & a moth ago for 29$. Just depends on who wants it & how much he's ready to pay to get it.
