Irish Blood, English Heart

Irish blood, English heart, This I'm made of

There is no one on earth I'm afraid of

And no regime can buy or sell me

I've been dreaming of a time when

To be English is not to be baneful

To be standing by the flag not feeling shameful, Racist or partial

Irish blood, English heart, This I'm made of

There is no one on earth I'm afraid of

And I will die with both of my hands untied

I've been dreaming of a time when

The English are sick to death of Labour, And Tories

And spit upon the name Oliver Cromwell

And denounce this royal line that still salute him

And will salute him forever

This is the coastal town

That they forgot to close down

Come, Armageddon! Come!

HTTT :sneaky:

hmmm...i listened to the album once right through...and, i do like it, but the thing that seemed to stick in my mind was his lyrics, as opposed to the melody/guitar parts/chords, stuff like that, that i normally listen too and like. Not saying Lyrics aren't important, or that i don't normally listen for them. it's just weird to listen for that (for me) on my First Listen. I don't think it's as good as The Smiths, (Just not the same without J. Marr) but i still like it..and i'll probably have another listen tomorrow :)

Heard the new album today..... and i'm actually leaving in a few minutes to go buy it. I think it's awesome!!!!! I love Morrissey.... he's brilliant. The new single is really really good but the song that stuck out most for me from the new album is "I'm not sorry." I really love that song!!! :D

I wish he'd come to Canada :(

There's definitely something about Morrissey that always makes me want to see or hear more from him.

hmm' date=' looks like i'm the only one who doesn't like this song... or Morrissey... or The Smiths.[/quote']

you suck. morrissey is a brilliant songwriter and performer. thanks god he made a new album. i have forgiven jesus is a timeless classic of mine and so are many other songs on the cd

yeah!..you Sucker!...not liking the same music...how dare you :sneaky:

The Smiths are amazing :stunned: and Morrissey is amazing. :) anyone know where i can get the lyrics for the new single?

:D

have you heard the new album then?

Did anyone see Morrissey on Jools Holland?

He was great :D Although there were a few dodgy attempts at high notes :stunned: lol, I suppose it was a live show though

Morrissey was suppose to be on Kilborne all week, but he got ill and Kilborne is hoping for Wednesday - Friday, but he might not show up at all.

I was disappointed after staying up to watch it last night.

ohhh... how annoying!

although i hope he is better soon!!

hope you get to see him on tv, he is quite charismatic on stage!

  • 1 year later...

I did use search and didn't find a morrissey thread :)

A new song from his next album has leaked onto the internet, and compared to his last studio album, it is a lot different and sounds a bit like radiohead (OK computer era).

Discuss the former smith's frontman and a solo-artist in his own right here :)

The Smiths era was waaaay cooler

Bigmouth,Suedehead and The boy with the thorn in his side are total vlassics

haha. morrissey. He was a complete ass when I saw him at Glasto in 2004.

I only like a few Smiths songs, thats it really... dont care much for the fella

Morrissey..wow I can't believe there are not many punk rock fans..he is like, the origional punk rocker..that Morrissey

And i have seen some lives stuff, he CAN be pretty vulgar and rude

BBC asks Morrissey to write Britain's Eurovision entry

Morrissey is in talks with the BBC over plans to write a song for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The former Smiths frontman, pictured, who has hits such as Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now and This Charming Man, was approached through his record label Sanctuary.

After last year’s failed British attempt he said: “I was horrified but not surprised to see the UK fall again. There’s a question I keep asking myself — why didn’t they ask me?”

Morrissey at Wembley: Still controversial, but on better form than ever

Bet you his song will get beaten in the qualifying round by a failed X-Factor star with big tits, singing a dodgy song, but no-body cares because she has big tits...

...you know what the British musical buying tastes are.

Morrissey 'refuses to live in the UK because of immigration explosion'

Music legend Morrissey is engulfed in a fresh racism row - after he said he refuses to live in Britain because of the "immigration explosion".

The former Smiths singer, a native of Manchester who now lives in Rome, sparked fury by claiming: "England is a memory now." And he moaned that Londoners speak with "every other accent under the sun" except British.

The comments have sparked fury among fans - with message boards slamming the singer.

Morrissey_468x436.jpgRow: Morrissey has sparked fury after saying he refuses to live in Britain because of the 'immigration explosion'

The star sparked a racism row in the mid-90s when he wore a Union Jack on stage while supporting Madness, and released a track about immigrants titled Bengali In Platforms.

The solo star, who is the son of Irish immigrants, told NME: "The gates are flooded and anybody can have access to England and join in.

"The British identity is very attractive, I grew up into into it and I find it quaint and very amusing.

"Other countries have held on to their basic identity yet it seems to me that England was thrown away.

"The change in England is so rapid compared to the change in any other country.

"If you walk through Knightsbridge on any bland day of the week you won't hear an English accent.

"You'll hear every accent under the sun apart from the British accent."

The comments were condemned by NME, which runs the interview in today's edition.

Reporter Tim Jonze, who chatted with the singer, wrote: "Morrissey has had a stormy relationship with this magazine and its readers over the last three decades.

"He might once have been the voice of a generation but given his comments in these two interviews, he's certainly not speaking for us now."

Internet forums were today buzzing over the legendarily miserable star's comments.

Smiths fan Slimjim, of Bradford, told one board: "It's totally out of order. Morrissey sounds like a Tory MP these days.

"It's a disgrace. I'll think twice about buying his next album."

Denis Fernando, a spokesman for Unite Against Fascism, said: "It is disturbing to hear anyone with these views, let alone someone like Morrissey."

the thing that morrisey has said happens not only in UK.. Europe is what is now because constanly people and cultures have moved from one place to anoter, learning and teaching ones to others during it...

but say that those are racist comments... people use to blame people of that too easy these days in Europe.. well the comments of him are out of order, i mean i see no reason why to say them, but if is what he thinks... people should be free to say what they think... and plus i know that press today, don't say the truth most of the time, they make-up it the way they want to...

i don't know who is behind those things, but i think that someone whats to press people in Europe in a concrete sense... that's very worrying.

What he said has been taken out of context
