Tell me about it! I thought me and my sister were not going to find seats! :P I liked the movie. :) Gwyneth played her role well. Too well.:shifty: haha I'm just teasing; I don't think she's really like her character Kelly in real life.:P It had its funny, touching, and sad parts. I enjoyed the movie, but I don't want to say too much for those who still haven't seen it.

I enjoyed the movie, too. And my husband stayed awake! That's a big plus. :laugh3: - Yes, some parts were predictable. Gwyneth did a great job, I thought. She cries on cue very well ;) And the guy who plays Beau was not bad to look at, either.

I'm glad y'all enjoyed it. The reviews haven't been good. Although the ones I've read seemed to like Gwyneth's perfomance in it if nothing else.

I'm in love with Garett's voice...his singing is just :stunned: incredible!!! Tim McGraw said he would kill for having his voice.... :D

Haven't you realised by now if it's not a blockbuster thing it generally doesn't get released until a long while after the American release

Your hubby stayed awake:lol: good sign, at least my hubby wants to see it, and didn't say, "Aw lets go see True Grit", he is like me, I really don't like Country Music, but I have always watched Gywneth's movies, even way back in the early 90's when I saw her in "Hook" I thought she played "Wendy" well, and she was so cute.

'Glee' exclusive: Season 2 to feature more Gwyneth and Gaga!

Gleeks, I’ve got such amazing scoop that I almost piddled in my pants when I heard it so I can’t imagine how you’re gonna react: EW has learned exclusively that the phenomenal Gwyneth Paltrow is officially reprising her role as Holly Holliday for TWO episodes of Glee in the spring and she’s gettin’ it on with Mr. Schuester!!! Says co-creator Ryan Murphy, “Gwyneth is coming back for two episodes. She’s coming back specifically to date Will [Matthew Morrison]. Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry. She’s coming back as a sex education teacher. Gwyneth and I are emailing, talking every week: What are we gonna sing? We’re trying to do something fantastic. So she’ll be [in episodes] 15 and 16. She comes back [to film] in January and she’s with us for three and a half weeks I think.”

 

You think that would be enough but I have even more redonkulous news: Lady Gaga just this week gave the Glee producers clearance for tackling her highly anticipated new single, “Born This Way,” which hasn’t even dropped yet! Murphy reveals that the song will be used in a March or April episode and will be centered around closeted gay bully Karofsky (Max Adler). “I love that that song is anthem,” says Murphy. “This show is by nature optimistic and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark. But I also love Max and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. So I don’t really know what that’s going to be, but I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song.”

 

And there’s one more Glee favorite returning: Kristin Chenoweth. She will be back as April Rhodes in the last batch of episodes of the season for a multi-episode arc.

 

Season 2′s second half is looking awfully good and really, really blonde!

I saw Country Strong today as well :nice:. It's not really an Oscar-winner, but I figured it sould at least be getting better reviews than it is. Regardless, I think Gwyneth is always at her best as an actress when playing really screwed up, depressed characters, and she didn't disappoint. She also was fricking beautiful :D. And Garrett Hedlund was not exactly hard on the eyes either :freak: :blush:.

 

The part that I found the funniest though was in the credits...I'm one of those weirdos that always stays til the end of the credits, and this time I did to hear "Me and Tennessee" anyway...but when they listed the song credits at the end, "Me and Tennessee" was said to be written and co-produced by an A. Martin :dozey:. They even make it look like they're not connected to each other in the fine print that no one reads anyway! :lol:. Guess they're trying to pawn the song off on Apple or Chris's father or brother or something :P.

Maybe he is going by Anthony Martin when writing for others now;)

If the goal is to hide his connection to the film, a) he could come up with a way more imaginative pseudonym, b) the cat's been out of the bag on this one for months anyway, and c) looks like he really effed up by making it so good it's on the shortlist for an Oscar nomination with his name attached and waved about in the media :P. I feel like I want him to get the nomination and the win mostly just to see him squirm about being so publicly and unavoidably connected to his wife. That'll teach him to be a hypocrite! :P

 

Also, note of annoyance: "Me and Tennessee" is album-only for download on both iTunes and Amazon :dozey:. I WANT to pay for the damn thing, I'm one of those people obsessed with legal downloads, but they're making it rather hard.

It's annoying that you can get the song only when buying the whole album.

And so is that apparently the movie won't start here until June.

They're making it really hard for people to maintain legal ways!!

I saw the movie yesterday: Review I didn't reveal anything about any twists and turns that might or might not have occured in the review.

 

We walked in and got choice seats, we were about 15 mins till the crap stuff starts to show, and besides my hubby and me, there were only 2 other couples, and a single girl. When the movie actually started the place was almost full!!!!!

 

I was captivated from start to finish, sometimes certain movies, at certain points, I will start thinking, "Hmmm, I gotta empty the dishwasher when I get home":D, but I found myself lost, in a good way with this film, it kept my attention the whole way thru.

 

GH "Beau" was very yummy to the eyes, his singing was incredible, and the passion he had for Holly "Gwyneth" was intense at times.

 

LM "C. Stanton" was cute, and believable with her character, her singing voice was good, and she just played the starstruck nashville barbie part great.

 

Tim McGraw: He didn't sing in the movie, his character was mostly cold, made you think he was more about making the money out of Holly than any kind of Love he should have, he loves her, but is either afraid to show it, or his love has died.

 

Gywneth "Holly" What can I say, she plays an excellent, addicted, self absorbed at times, loving, caring, talented, obnoxious, lost, all wrapped up in one character.

The first tour stop of her comeback was so believable, that the second tour stop, blew me away with how she completley went to pieces, you felt like it was so real.

 

The latter part of the movie, Gwyneth sang I believe like 3 songs in front of a proper stadium filled arena, she was on fire.............

 

The movie made me tear-up, laugh, and cringed, very emotional at times and I was left feeling that Gwyneths Role should have her up for a Oscar Nod.

 

I too stayed for the "Me and Tennessee" song as the credits rolled, and yes the elusive

"A Martin" was listed:lol: IMO I don't think he will win an Oscar for it, and was really surprised "Country Strong" wasn't nominated as the Movies Song. I hope the song will make it to the shortlist, and on to win, but I think it's up against more popular songs that are nominated.

 

Everyone that was walking out of the movie, were gushing on about how this was one of the best movies they have seen in a long time, and that they were going to go get the CD.

I don't like country music, but I tell ya, the songs they sang in the movie, had my foot a tapping, and I feel the need for the soundtrack.

 

I could have really gotten into the depths of this movie, and the twists and turns, but some of you might not have seen it yet.:cool:
