I love the Ellen Show, and I thought G's turn on it today was really cute and funny! I knew Ellen would bring up the family, and she did. She's a great host, and G looked like she was having a really good time. Kudos!

I'm sure there will be a video of it soon, and you may know some of this by now, but just in case, here's a synopsis for you:

 

She came out to POC playing in the background.

She talked about thinking the "Most Beautiful Woman" award was a joke at first but admitted it was "rad" since she was 40 with two kids.

Ellen brought up Chris saying, "I love him so much" and asked about their upcoming 10th anniversary. I laughed when Gwyneth said "he knocked me up." :D She said he was recording now and at home being an "amazing dad." She also said he was an incredible father, so good to the kids, so responsible and always on time.

She said the kids were very musical and played guitar and sang and Moses played the drums. She said he had perfect pitch and told the story of how he rapped for his teacher.

Some Chippendale'ish guys came out and gave Gwyneth a sash and crown for being the "Most Beautiful Woman" and Gwyneth danced with them into commercial.

She talked about Iron Man.

She and Ellen had a really entertaining session about the dress and the grooming it took to wear it. It was so cute how they cracked up the whole time.

Ellen said she'd heard that Gwyneth and Chris like to play a game where they imitate people on the radio and then try to guess who it is, so Ellen held up pictures of singers, Gwyneth sang something from that artist and Ellen had to guess who it was. She held up Jay-Z, Lewis and Macklemore, Kayne, Beyonce and then, yes, Chris. Gwyneth said it was a "surreal moment" when she seemed stumped, but she sang a bit of "Paradise." Ellen guessed, "Is it you?" and Gwyneth took the picture from her, held it up and said, "No, but it's my male counterpart!"

They had a short talk about the cookbook.

Ellen mentioned that she'd read that Gwyneth likes to rap while cooking, so the Chippendale guys came back out with a huge gold chain with a blinged-out timer attached to it and some salt/pepper rings.

I flipped through the People magazine at the store today (did not buy it though), the news outlets made Gwyneth's quotes about Chris seem kind of dire. The quote we've seen about her marriage is out of context, for one. Also, during the photo shoot, Chris and the kids apparently drop by and the reporter states Gwyneth is made very happy about that.
