August 25, 200817 yr Went to see them last night in Manchester! They were amazing as usual :D the setlist was amazing aswell they played a few old gems which sounded great like Seven Chinese Brothers, Fall On Me, These Days and Pretty Persuation. Third time I've seen them and they are still on top of their game! :D
August 25, 200817 yr Lucky guy. I really wanted to go but the £60 price really put me off. I think that took the piss; no need to charge that much. Did they play Nightswimming or Sweetness Follows? They're 2 of my favourites.

They did walk on to a dance version of Nightswimming tho which was abit weird but cool :laugh3: Here's what they played in Manchester last night (i've copied this from the REM website): 1. Living Well Is The Best Revenge 2. These Days 3. What's The Frequency, Kenneth? 4. Drive 5. Man-Sized Wreath 6. Fall On Me 7. Ignoreland 8. Walk Unafraid 9. Hollow Man 10. I’m Gonna DJ 11. Electrolite 12. Pretty Persuasion 13. The Great Beyond 14. So Fast, So Numb 15. 7 Chinese Bros. 16. The One I Love 17. I’ve Been High 18 Let Me In 19. Horse To Water 20. Bad Day 21. Orange Crush 22. Imitation Of Life 23. Supernatural Superserious 24. Losing My Religion 25. Mr. Richards 26. It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) 27. Man On The Moon My ticket was £45 plus a booking fee which took it up to £50. I agree the ticket prices for this tour have been way too high! Last time I seen them in Manchester in 2005 my ticket cost me £35!

Are they playing the same set-list for each date, changing songs around (ala Paul Weller) or playing a completely different setlist every show (ala radiohead)?

They have been changing the setlist around each night. The setlists have been great on this tour.

August 30, 200817 yr Stipe is such a talent on stage, he really suprised me when he was performing End of the World at T in The Park.
August 31, 200817 yr Stipe is such a talent on stage, he really suprised me when he was performing End of the World at T in The Park. He has to be one of my favourite front men of all time! :D
August 31, 200817 yr He gets the crowd moving, and don't have to fall back on idiotic special effects on stage.
August 31, 200817 yr R.E.M are the king of random but brilliant lyrics. If I were to make a band I'd definatly make it in the style of R.E.M. Free form verses and bouncy dangling guitars.
September 2, 200817 yr Yesterday's set-list from Southampton: * Bad Day * Living Well's The Best Revenge * What's the Frequency, Kenneth? * Fall on Me * Drive * Man Sized Wreath * Begin the Begin * Hollow Man * Great Beyond * Ignoreland * Animal * Electrolite * I'm gonna DJ * Pretty Persuasion * The One I Loved * 7 Chinese Brothers * Nightswimming * Let Me In (Acoustic) * Auctioneer * Horse to Water * Orange Crush * It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) * -- ENCORE -- * Supernatural Superserious * Losing My Religion * Imitation of Life * Man on the Moon And it was awesome :D seems like that was one hell of a show. now if only they played harborcoat it would have been perfect (my fav rem song)
September 3, 200817 yr R.E.M are the king of random but brilliant lyrics. That's excatly why I like them. Just think of ...ehm... "The Great Beyond".... "I'm pushing an elephant up the stairs..." ... it doesn't make sense but it fits geniusely! ;)
September 9, 200817 yr Peter Buck's signature Rickenbacker guitar was stolen from the stage in Helsinki, Finland tonight :shocked2: :shocked2: :shocked2: Just read about it now on their website. Here's the link: http://remhq.com/news_story.php?id=888 I hope he gets it back!
September 10, 200817 yr Wow it was an amazing gig! And I didn't stole the guitar then :P I post some pics soon. I was only 5 feet away from Michael Stipe when he came down from the stage during Losing My Religion. They even played Cuyahoga because Editors requested it. It's one of my favourite tracks.
September 10, 200817 yr Stipe had to lift his trousers all the time. he explaned that he had actually lost some weight.
