  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

Haha! :P

I think you are talking about 'Old City'. I love going downtown. There's a lot of work needed to be done...*cough* John Street.. *cough* But it's great that you are coming here! I hope you like it!

And maybe I'll see you...:P

Yesterday I went to uni an hour early (without realising it) but when I figured out I still had an hour to my lecture I figured I'd just go to the library and catch up on some reading for one of my subjects... but I ended up writing the Coldplay guys' bday's into my student diary and listing the songs on each of their albums...So all in all, a very productive hour!

Haha! :P

haha, im back! we stayed in a hostel on south bank street in a pretty nice area of philly, really close to the high-end brownhouses and a 15 min walk from south street. it was an amazing trip, and i really loved philly, even though we spent a lot of time in the most horrible parts working with crack addicts. have you ever heard of New Jerusalem? that's the program we were working with, and we spent a lot of time at the First United Church of Christ.

:D i was a teenage girl with a lavender backpack and black square glasses and long brown hair walking with a group of anywhere between 1 and 11 other teenagers if you saw me. tee hee.

gah! not much has been going on since i left, it seems. i guess its good that i didnt miss anything, but this is my favorite thread on the site! it makes me a bit sad that its not as popular as it once was.

talked a lot about music on the trip with my friends, and i found that a friend of mine, who i knew liked coldplay at least casually, finds chris "really REALLY hot" though she'd "still love the music even if she didnt find him totally attractive" and that everyone likes coldplay at least a little bit, no matter how much they deny it. i hadnt seen a pic of chris or any of the guys in a week and the first thing i did was say hi to all of the guys on my poster in my room.

oh! and the guy that worked at the hostel i was staying at looked EXACTLY LIKE JONNY BUCKLAND. i was drooling the entire week, and i bet he caught me staring at him more than once. his name was brandon, and he listened to some really cool music. he even dressed in a coldplayish/jonny style.

Hey Valentine!

Aww I didn't get to see you!

It's great that you liked Philly. I love how you are helping, because there needs to be some progress here.

A guy that looks like Johnny?!?!?!?!?

Do you know where he lives? :P

i wish i did, but homg, was he the spitting image of jonny. he was short, though, and obviously american, but had a great voice. he was GREAT. oh man. i was so excited. he was about the same age too, so a bit old for us...:)

what area of philly do you live in? i feel like i have a pretty good feel of the city after walking around there for an entire week. i may have even walked past your house!!

one of the best parts of the trip was realizing how great philly was. i used to think that most of the city was sketchy and downright dangerous like the area we worked in (we werent allowed to go outside except for in a whole group or even be in the doorway for too long) but i LOVED the city. i really hate NYC, which i consider our city because we live 60 miles away, 30 mins by train. but philly...i felt so much more at home!!

Oh, I love Philly, flew up from Orlando and went there for CP's last concert with the rest of the crazy fans who gave out the 12,000 signs! I used to live in Trenton area and would go down to Philly alot for all the concerts and festivals.... and of course, a cheesesteak! Boy, I miss those! And I will never ever forget that night with all those signs at the Coldplay show! :)

i saw someone who resembled chris martin. ok not really in looks so much as in facial features, but his height....actually it was just his height and body shape that reminded me of chris at the concert. i remember thinking "wow, you are kind of tall" so yeah! lol this is really random but it's the first thing i thought of when i saw that guy.

so there's this guy in my form.

he's pretty cool and we always joke around in class.

he sits right across me so we get to do lots of bullcrap during french or maths.

well, he got a new creative zen and asked me how i put all the videos on my ipod.

he asked me to burn some videos on a dvd since his internet broke down a few days ago.

so i told him he should make a list of the videos he wants... and guess what.

he made a list with the bands he likes and also wrote down:"COLDPLAY".

OMG!

this is so cool. :) hehehe.

there's no one else in my form who likes coldplay and this was such a big surprise because we've been hanging out for 4 years now and i didn't even know that.

was in the apple store today and right as i walked in "shiver" started up, so of course i had to stay for the entire song. and then right after that was "dont panic"! i think it was some sort of coldplay CD or whatever, but i didnt have time to stay and hear it all. every time i go into my apple store something coldplayish happens.

yesterday my friend was listening to an unnamed song on her ipod that i gave to her and asked me to identify it. it was "12:51" by the strokes, so i said so, and she was like "oh, i thought it was coldplay." i was like WHAAAAT? and she was like "yeah, its like good coldplay."

grr. i love the strokes a hell of a lot, but coldplay is a) so much better in my mind and b) NOTHING LIKE THE STROKES.

even though coldplay likes the strokes. tee hee.

Really? I feel a lot more at home in NYC than in Philly!

I live more in the outskirts of Philly, so you probably didn't pass by my house. :(

Apparently on 'Comedy Inc.' - a sketch show here - they did a mock video clip of Yellow, where they changed the lyrics. I didn't see it but my sister told me about it.. Although I caught the end of the show and at the end of the credits they played a five second sample of the mock clip and it was the same thing as the Yellow vid. clip... there was a guy walking down the beach but he was singing "Blah blah blah blah blah blah.. something that rhymes with yellow" and my sis was telling me that he was saying stuff like "all our songs sound the same" and that... I'm quite sad that I missed it.. it would have been funny to watch.

Hmm... a few weeks ago Mum was watching "Cold Feet" (at least I think thats what show it was) and one of the characters' wife had died.. Anyway, I was upstairs and Mum was downstairs and all of a sudden I hear The Scientist and I'm like WHAT?!? and so i was quickly searching the channels to see what show it was so i could listen to it and lucky it was hte first channel I chose. So cool. I mean, sad because the guy's wife died, but cool because they played Coldplay.

ive seen the albertus font SOOO many places recently, especially in philly when i was there. it just keeps popping up.

and i was just listening to clocks on my computer and then my cell phone rang, and my ringtone is clocks. and it was EXACTLY IN UNISON WITH THAT PART OF THE SONG. creeeepy.

^^ That is too creepy! I was food shopping yesterday and just as I entered the store A Message started playing on their music... This is like the second time I heard that same song while shopping there. Another time when I was in checkout line SOS came on and the guy bagging my stuff started talking to me about CP when I said "Oh, that's Coldplay!" Glad Publix store likes Coldplay! It makes me feel good and then I end up buying more stuff... that's not good!

I was staring at Awhisper21's sig pic and though I was seeing spots, then realized there are spots. :laugh3:

^hahaha :laugh1:

yes, i love lens flare on photos. so i added it. it looked better in color even though its a black and white photo. call me strange, but i love it.

re-reading my coldplay book and realized that the one time in my life i was in london, coldplay was there too. i dont know why this makes me happy, considering i live so close to NYC and chris is there a lot, but i dont know, that made me happy.

did anyone else realize how scary the resemblance between the singer mat kearney and chris martins voice:o especially the songs 'All i need' and 'where we gonna go from here'

Mwah, i watched two movies last weekend..and both of them had a coldplay song..and later that day i was reading a magazine and there was a pic of Chris and Apple

It made me feel like god wants me to listen more coldplay cause i haven't listened to them that much in the past 6 months or something

mohah

I love when on MTV Video Awards 2003 Jason Biggs ( my favorite actor ;) ) say : "You know, i like Coldplay, Coldplay is cool....."

And then they win the best group video :D
