June 28, 200620 yr hm... the city i live in sucks. other than having an advanced hospital with one of the three level one trauma centers in southern california, there's... nothing much that's great about it. buuut, there's a whole bunch of stuff to do within a 100-mile radius of this place. but i can't drive... so that's kinda useless. but anyway SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (SOCAL) pros - lots of places to go to - los angeles, san diego, zoos, beaches, mountains, hollywood (:P), lots of sports (anaheim angels [or, los angeles angels of anaheim], LA dodgers, there used to be the Rams :cry:, LA Kings, LA Clippers/Lakers, Mighty Ducks, haha, etc etc...) - good education, i think... - theme parks! (disneyland, disney's california adventure, six flags magic mountain, knotts berryfarm, raging waters, universal studios hollywood) - sunny, dry... nice weather (kinda... not lately though) cons - expenssiivve to live here - ridiculously expensive on the coast - earthquakes (those are sometimes cool, but not when they're over 6.0 :uhoh:) - gets insanely hot sometimes (125 degrees is NOT fun) - generally stupid people :laugh3: - eh... and if illegal immigrants are a bad thing :P

June 28, 200620 yr TEXAS I live in a city that is growing fast enough to catch central Houston's attention. I don't actually LIVE in Houston, per say...but It's close enough that to describe where I live..I say Houston. The Woodlands is soon to be annexed by the city of Houston... So whatever. It's really developed now. Lots of recreational things to do. But just minutes away is empty land ..that is basically free for all. Pros: Lots of land to do recreational things such as four-wheeling, bon fires..ladiladi But I am close to many things, my locale is conventient to all types of cities, non cities, and boonies. All types of interesting people. Cowboys, rednecks (they're fun to ostrasize :laugh2: ), city dwellers... Cons: Persistant crime...hardly anyone likes to go to the city of Houston. It's dangerous! Uhm, it's boring unless you plan outside things..and there is usually no time. Too much suburbia ... not enough of the old time "leave your house unlocked" deal that used to be around.

June 28, 200620 yr Hmmmm... im gonna talk about my city specifically, coz Brazil (and even only my state) is way too big... pros - most beautiful beaches ive ever seen - sunny weather pretty much all year long - has an amazing carnaval party - you're about 15 minutes away from every place u need (airport, good restaurants, clubs, bars, malls, etc) - has a lot of history and cool places to visit (if u r interested in that kind of stuff) ok... cons - violence is becoming insane... - public transportation sucks - people tend to judge u by who is are your parents, where you went to high school... - there are freackin 1.something milion ppl living in this citty, but somehow, EVERY time u go out, you always end up seeing the same people... - its kinda sad not to have cold weather...

Mine is pretty much the same, you covered it all. I wouldn't say everyone is that friendly but then I've never bin outside the Eastern States. (NSW, Qld, Vic) Except it is funny because the water restrictions occur in Qld but not NSW and I live in Tweed (just south of the border) HA! Whoever decided on the location of Hinze Dam really is an idiot. And I agree with the Emo thing. Went up to Brissy a while back and I was scared, before that I don't think I'd seen more than 3 emo's in my life. And about the petrol prices, they're just ridiculous, $1.39/Litre wtf?!

Pros: - Really free country, you can do whatever you want (drugs etc.) so I think therefore people don't get tempted as easily - Lots of people from different cultures, and I think they all go along pretty well - Good schools, healthcare, social securities... pretty rich country - Monarchy.. I love it! :P Cons: - Weather.. no snow in winter, and only sunshine in the summer if we're lucky - It's tiny... 16 million people in such a little, little country... so crowded.. - Materialism.. lately I notice it more and more often... it's probably in a lot of countries in the world but here as well.. you have to wear the right clothes, like the right popstars, go to the right places...

The Metro Centre. Cons:- Pollution Too busy Charvers (which covers basically... violence, drugs and drink abuse, etc) Noisy place aswell.
June 28, 200620 yr Author Seeing as I live in Newcastle too for 9 months of the year, I'll give my opinion on it too: Newcastle, England Pros: -Wonderful nightlife, a vast array of bars to go to for early drinking and then an equally good quantity/quality of nightclubs to follow (Not to mention places like Osborne road which is outside of city, but still great atmosphere) -Compact city centre, which is great for shopping, it takes 15minst to walk from one side of the city to the other, but so many shops are within that 15mins -Countryside is nice, lots of attractions outside city centre -NUFC is a magical thing -People are nice and friendly (Especially for a city) and have a great sense of humour Cons: -Screwed up bus system -Chavs I guess (In comparison with Irish chavs, these chavs are really nice, Im not kidding Jack) -City smells bad -Unless your going out and drinking, everything is dead after 6pm Yep.

June 28, 200620 yr Texas (again) well, Houston isn't that bad...crime has been going down and it's generally safe here. yuo won't get mugged walking down the street or anything like that Pros -large w/ lots of space -i know a lot of ppl here :P -not too terribly ghetto or gangster or whatever, it's a good city to live in -we don't really get tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes or any other natural disasters -lots of malls and theatres -has a good social scene like clubs and stuff -er...why can;t i think of anything else?!?! Cons -it's so big you HAVE to drive everywhere, there's no public transport that's worht using -takes about 2-3 hours to get to the nearest big city like Austin -if you've lived here for awhile, it gets boring kind of quick -gas prices are ridiculous -it's so big that you don't get the cool little cafes and shops that smaller cities have (Austin has some really cool places to shop and eat and stuff like that) -erm...Bush, anybody? but...i like living in texas, specially Houston. we were driving to Austin the other day and i realized just how beautiful Texas countryside is. it's sprawling and grassy and very pretty. god, i sound like a weirdo :P
