You can listen to some songs LEGALLY here: http://www.myspace.com/thefeeling :D

I saw them live a few weeks ago because I won tickets for an exclusive promo gig :D I loved them right away and still can't listen to their album, it's brilliant and brings you into a good mood immediately :P

They are on a big European tour later this year, they'll be in my city again, I can't wait to see them!

lucky you ;)

eh, you must get used to it, everyone here is downloading some songs, even coldplay songs :laugh4:

i know i could listen to the songs on myspace, but i want them to my mp3 player :laugh4:

^ Yeah, but I'm sure you know the feeling of a huge fan not wanting his band's songs being downloaded illegally ;)

And when you want the songs on your mp3 player, then go and buy the album :P

3438-thefeeling.gif

The Feeling will release their third single “Love It When You Call” on 20th Nov. ’06. Taken from their debut album “Twelve Stops And Home”, “Love It When You Call” is written and performed by The Feeling. The band’s previous three singles “Sewn” (March), “Fill My Little World” (June) and “Never Be Lonely” (August) have all been top ten hits.

“Love It When You Call” will be available on CD and 7” vinyl formats. The CD will feature the original version of “Love It When You Call” as well as a U-Myx version and the video, a new previously unavailable Feeling song “The Child”, and an acoustic version of the Peter Gabriel song “Don’t Give Up”. The 7” will feature “Love It When You Call” and “Do You Want It”, an experimental jam from the shed where they recorded “Twelve Stops And Home”.

The Feeling have just finished a tour of Europe, and will be spending the rest of October on tour in the US. Their previously announced headline tour of the UK in November has completely sold out.

^ Some piccies.

I really like "sewn". "fill my little world" is a nice song as well :)

I actually haven't listenend to them properly yet, but I once saw a gig on tv which I didn't like that much, as far as I remember ;)

Yeah, I like them. Need to listen to them a bit more but like them so far :)

I dont like them that much, yeah their songs are catchy but they rip off an older band I like called Supertramp, the piano riffs anyway. I didnt mind Sewn.

Dont hate them though, but I can see them as one of these bands that are going to get too popular and become annoying.

Yes, I see that too Kara. They are wayyyy to catchy :\

I've been to two of their gigs this year - I won tickets for the first one, a promotional gig, and paid for the second :P

They are brilliant live, and the album is very catchy indeed - the guys are incredibly nice and laid back, too, talked to them after their last gig! But I have to admit that their songs are a bit "too" catchy because I don't listen to them as often as I used to, they just become too annoying after some time.. It's a bit like with Keane, the songs are great but you get sick of them easily!

Just found these guys thanks to VH1's whole You Oughta Know series of artists, which I have to say is amazing. I've found tons of great artists before they became popular through that...Keane, Jamie Cullum, Franz Ferdinand.

Anyway, checked out The Feeling, saw how popular they are in the UK. I'm really surprised there's not more about them here! Anyway, top notch band...just got the CD import. Fill My Little World is fantastic. I'm really hoping I can get an .mp3 copy of the single they're releasing on Monday...a cover of Video Killed the Radio Star? Sounds awesome. Hope someone can upload for us non-UK people!

Also managed to snag tickets to the VH1 You Oughta Know show in Philadelphia they're playing. The Feeling, Mat Kearney, and Rocco Deluca. Sure to be an awesome show.

What do you guys think?

I merged the 3 threads that were exisiting for the band... :)

I like these guys too... I first heard them on Virgin Radio... me likes!

I've started a thread about them time ago... and seems that it's been mixed with a previous one ....

i like them specially their video with the animals, i don't remember the name now..

have you seen the one where their are like gansters or something like that?

The feeling must be devoid of feeling

Otherwise they'd stop the Twelve Stop and go home

The Feeling

Twelve Stop and Home

Cherrytree/Interscope Records

One out of five stars

Initially, I thought The Feeling had done something smart and safe by following in the already paved, promising direction of The Zombies.

Not so.

The Zombies, of course, were that '60s English pop-rock band that contributed to the hegemony of the British Invasion. They played highly emotive and simplified love-pop songs like the other British boy bands during the time, but they did it so well and convincingly that they made it impossible to disagree with any ridiculous lyric they sang. For instance, the otherwise gut-wrenching line, "Sometimes I feel a little lonely; sometimes I cry at night," sounds amazingly insightful and natural in the context of The Zombies' lo-fi sound: Warm, sexy organs; angular, bright guitars; choppy, charged drums; breathy, electrified vocals.

The Feeling, instead, draw their subject matter from the old cesspool of incestuous Fake Love in order to blanket their emotional discontents, all the while set to the background of bland, vapid rock. Imagine Coldplay and Aerosmith doing an album together; then, take that awful hybrid and dip it in some Maroon 5 or Mute Math or some other cute-boy bogus act.

As a result, when The Feeling sings, "I love it when you call, but you never call at all…whoo!" they embarrass everything their optimistically sad-song touches. They are as pathetic and desperate as a 13-year-old boy who steals baseball cards from his local gas station.

I haven't seen the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie yet, but I'm guessing it will be a disappointment compared to the originals. Hyper technology and glossy, artificial aesthetics rarely make for good art. The same goes for The Feeling's Twelve Stop and Home. I'll stick with my VHS copies of TMNT and LPs of The Zombies; at least they offer entertaining pop.
