Forget the Bends, if you're trying to get into Radiohead, listen to In Rainbows first. It really is their most accessible album.

 

I think you are probably right actually. and it combines bits of Hail to the Thief, Kid A and the Bends

 

so you can then get into them from this.

I'm lucky my sister loves Radiohead. Maybe I should just give it to her.

Takk is still 17€, OKC is even 18€ although it's not new at all (still, it's excellent :D), and The Eraser was also 17€ when it came out. First time I heard France being called Taxland, normally it's the French calling this country "Treasure Island" with all the taxes we have on stuff.

i got my brother into radiohead recently. he said he hated in rainbows, though, all except the "floppy fish" song (aka "weird fishes"...i just about died when he called it that). but he's really into pablo honey and the bends and parts of ok computer now. i figure the rest will come with time :D

 

ok, totally random question:

in "15 step" does anybody else notice this strange effect that sounds exactly like a group of young kids all shouting "YAY!!!!" at once? it happens after the line "fads for whatever" and in a couple other places. i was wondering if anybody else a) noticed this and b) could tell me if this is an actual effect from an instrument or it is in fact a soundclip of a bunch of ecstatic children. because it sounds a hell of a lot like the latter to me.

I started a thread about what album i should start with etc on radiohead awhilst ago. But so far, ive been listening to in rainbows and from what ive heard, i think its fairly groovy!

So far, my fav song is Jigsaw..

but im still having to hear more of it. I gotta go get my hands on the album soon enough. But I wanted to get OK comp and Kid A as well...hmm.

they no longer have ties with EMI.... they are on an independent label. :) So basically... they're label free agents.

^Except they technically are on a few different labels. Just no major ones like EMI or Sony.

I went to my closest Virgin Megastore and saw them, covering an entire wall. Many CDs and also some Vinyls.
