Please take the time to read this first post and pray that prayer to God at the bottom of it if you haven't yet.

Good to see your still around promoting God Frodo

The way to Heaven is clear. You just need two Fair-Trade double-chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and that's about as heavenly as it gets!:P Details Inside: (place the cookies on 20 cubits of silk cloth, in a tabernacle laid out 100 cubits on a side, and within the tabernacle on an alter made of the finest rosewood, covered with pure cashmere wool.) Six cross-legged contemplating pure happiness while muching on God's finest food.) Two is for sharing.;)

Thanks. I'm promoting people accepting Jesus Christ into their hearts as their Lord and Savior. Please take the time to read this first post and pray that prayer to God at the bottom of it if you haven't yet.

I realize that people don't like to be called "sinners" but if you look inside your own heart you will know that you are not perfect. I know I am not perfect. I am not pointing my finger at you. I am trying to warn you that you need Jesus. If we could go to heaven by being a good person, then Jesus Christ died on the cross for nothing. He came because we couldn't save ourselves. Here is that hard part for most people: In order to be saved, we must humble ourselves before God and admit that we are sinners and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. The prayer at the bottom of this first post does this if you pray it from your heart to God. Please do that. I am not judging you, I am telling you what the bible says you must do to be saved, that's all.

I have some reservations about that book, he goes a little far in "setting up" his arguments. Skimming over the larger arguments to spend time picking on the already absurd.

In any case, posting an atheistic book will only encourage frodo. It's better to point out that while his heart is in the right place, he needs to be more understanding and respectful towards other worldviews, and should learn that this sort of evangelism only ever turns people off to Christianity.

Besides I believe in the teaching of Islam, so christianity doesn't fill my boots

Besides I believe in the teaching of Islam, so christianity doesn't fill my boots

I'm a Scientologist.

I think I might be a universe deist, but I'm not positive..but definitely a free thinker. Anyhow, it's all amazing we're all here, people working together to get all this stuff to work, for a variety of reasons and motivations, including the love of our fellow man, pure fun, accomplishing goals, and just for the hell of it. OOPS, there's that word again!:laugh3: It's just amazing, and if Jesus did one thing (and his embellishers who deified him later on) it was to soften the hard edge of life, bring meaning to the basic elements of human existance, and lift our spirits. To me, there is no true "sin", just a misanthropic short-sighted act, the excess of which, or if done it an inappropriate time, leads to consequences that are harmful to others in that social setting; our actions affecting others in a negative way, in an unfair way; the long result is that it comes back to us like a bommerang does, if we're not careful we get clobbered by our own misdeeds. But we all make errors in judgement, and need to both examine our own actions, and have others remind us of our excess selfishness from time to time, so that we learn to bring about greater harmony in human endeavors.

That being said, it's pretty self-evident what the true nature of sin is. It's excess selfishness, thoughtlessness, or inappropriateness when we need to show greater depth of understanding towards others, and be less insecure and self-interested. I suppose it's safe to argue that there is a bit of the old crocodile within all of us, and that need restraint from time to time as well. Hypercompetitiveness is not always good, as the Roman gladiators showed us.

But a prescription for saving us is silly - we need to understand that we are both individual and within the nexus of society simultaneously. At times having personal experiences, and at other times, totally interconnected interactions. The balance of which depends on circumstances. Still, it seems only rational that, given our propensity for knowledge and learning, one of the highest aspirations humanity can strive towards is enlightenment, and that is a gradual process of logical analysis and testing hypothesis, both in the emperical sense and in the theoretical sense. That is to say, we are advancing our total sense of the universe, as the dawn slowly lights the earth, and shapes take form out of the grey darkeness. To be saved we merely need to be taught and to reflect on what makes sense, and to see that peace and cooperation, and balance in life punctuated by exceptionalism is our true path. We make mistakes, but realizing those mistakes and correcting them pays us back in ways that must be learned to be appreciated. Anotherwords, more like Bugs, less like Daffy.:P

to the opener of the thread:

with all my respect but i don't see the point in trying to evangelize people on a board...

we are grown up on our parents beliefs, and when we are old we decide what we'll believe or we'll base our life.

i've been grown up in a christian catholic beliefs and i'm going to keep on it, but i don't try to tell people what to do and i don't expect they do the same i do... because as JC said: don't judge if you don't want to be judged.

and btw what if we pray to a God that is not christian?... in theory if god exist, surely won't care how we call it, as long as we honestly believe and base our life in do the best and give the best of us everyday that's good.

I'm not telling anyone what to do. They have a choice to believe it or not. I am just presenting the gospel as Jesus and His disciples presented it and we know what happened to them. People cannot choose the truth if it's not presented to them. I am here to present it and give people that choice.

This thread is a year old on Monday.

Happy birthday thread

I'm not telling anyone what to do. They have a choice to believe it or not. I am just presenting the gospel as Jesus and His disciples presented it and we know what happened to them. People cannot choose the truth if it's not presented to them. I am here to present it and give people that choice.

those two bolded parts of your own words are not synonims to me. :uhoh:

we are free, free to choose, and we are grown enough to choose, so we don't need anybody comes and brings us the truth.

God let us be free, we are free to be right or be grown on our decitions.

or don't God will pardon a sinner if he really prays and is sorry for his sins?

we are not perfect, that's why we need God, that makes us "perfect", and part the Bible is right as God is everywhere, that means God can be simply in a daisy.

Because God is a thing that make us try to be better person everyday... (at least that's what God is for me) i don't think we should judge that, if we pray to God or not and all that... everybody is free to choose. Temples are opened for everyone who wants to enter them. We should respect those who don't want to enter them. :)

How to get to heaven when you die:

Xfrodo.. why dont u just say these things..

1. believe in the holy spirt(GOD) and believe his son his jesus.

2. Follow jesus, be one with him, believe his dying on the cross was to save your sins.

3. Believe that everyother religon is wrong and those who follow other ones or dont have one are all going to hell.

4. Deny any other possibilties of existence and the afterlife, for what "we" believe is the right path.

4. Mostly, to get to heaven, you must say that prayer.

And that my fellow coldplayers is how ya get to heaven;)

lol.

Frodo, you have to realize the problem is not that people haven't heard about God or christianity, it's that people like you are shoving it down their throat everywhere they go.

In other words...you are the problem you're trying to fight.
