If A Spell sounds that good from a 30 second clip, and it's a B-Side, the actual album could be pretty damn good.

They'd better have a good reason for leaving this off the album though, because i can see me loving this more than Violet Hill. This is more my type of music. As someone else said, I hope that there are more of these types of songs on the album.

i know it's been said, but this sounds EXACTLY like U2. like freakily so. i didn't even read what anyone else said before, because i got it sent to me rather than seeing the thread, but U2 IMMEDIATELY sprung to mind. wowies.

 

but i looooooove it. it's more embellished than i hoped this album would be (i was hoping just for like, two guitars, bass, drums and piano), but whatever! gahhh, now i HAVE to have more! this is too much of a teaser, it's getting too painful to wait :bigcry:

have you ever heard more than a couple of songs from the u2 ?

I had a sneaking suspicion this B-side would restore my faith in Coldplay... Of course we don't even have a real tune yet or even a chorus, but the general atmosphere of the song and Chris's vocals are much more to my liking than Violet Hill.

 

I can definitely hear shades of Eno's "Just Another Day" in this song. For anyone who hasn't heard it, I highly recommend you give it a listen (I've put it on my web space temporarily):
