We were all well aware that the UK gigs were seating only - it said so a few days in advance on the ticket websites.

As as for 'accepting it', you don't want to see Coldplay at a gig with no designated standing area? Then don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simple as that.

Stop WHINING and sell your ticket to someone else who will be happy no matter where they are, grow up and shut up and just realise that this is the situation.

As someone else has already said, why not take your discrepencies to a higher authority instead of continually going around in circles on this board and annoying everyone who actually just wants to see Coldplay live.

don't get me wrong, i'm ecstatic that i'm going to see coldplay, but i was shocked to see there was no standing. They're one of the biggest bands in Britain, they should be allowing as many fans to see them as possible. An ALL SEATED gig means less fans can get tickets, so people miss out.

 

but in a way you're right, we'll all have to put up with it.

it's up to us to make the decision whether we sit or we stand. We've paid for a ticket, so i think we should be able to do what we want with our 'seat'

 

anyway, we should all be glad that we're going...we're forgetting about COLDPLAY! at the end of the day they're more important :)

I guess most of us are happy and know they're lucky to have tickets just like me.

But there are probably fans who decided not to pay 42£ to see their fav band cause they knew they'd prefer a gig in a standing area (you can't deny that it creates a different atmosphere), others did pay expensive tickets thinking they'd be (standing) on the floor (cause yeah it was written on ticketmaster there would be standing tickets for the O2) and discovered later they were going to be very high in the arena... so their fav band will look like a little point far away from them.

We're not insulting people who prefer to be seated, which is a perfectly understandable choice, we're just pointing the fact (and that could be interesting for Coldplay) that by not doing pre-sale or by doing all seated concerts some fans are penalized (cause that also means less people in the venue).

 

Coldplay members can't do anything about it, especially now tickets are sold but it's also a way to show that bands could one day end up losing a little part of their audience because of facts like tickets owned by touts or things like that...

You are quite insulting! I could take offence but why would I bother with you? You have no regards for debate or your fellow fans feelings. Ditto to you about persisting with dull arguements. Any band should be thankful to fans, it is not the fans who should be thankful for the band.

Are you similarly bored by Chris Martin going on about "Make Trade Fair" and "Ofam" campaigns. Where I see an injustice I will point it out and you will not stop me. In fact you just encourage me, because you are part of the problem! You think you are so much more of a fan than everyone else and whatever you believe is fact. I might not agree with you but I can respect your opinion, you should do likewise instead of resulting to your infantile statements. So I bore you! the things you mentioned there are worth going on about , something will get done about it , but the seating arragement will not change!! get used to it , it doesnt have to be a bad thing.

that's ridiculous , if they were your favourite band you'd pay £42 to have the shittest seats in the arena , and i dont see what these fans think they will achieve with all this"it's the principle" crap , just buy the tickets before someone else does or don't moaning about it. So what it may have a different atmosphere , at the end of the day if it's music you love , the gig will be what you make it whether you moan all night about not being able to stand or get over that and go all out.

Maybe even get an explanation?

Be grateful they are even touring? It's their job!!! It's what they are supposed to do, and i'm sure all the money they get for it they love it, just as much as we love them.

That's fair enough.

 

You get out of a gig what you want to get out of it. We're all different, and we all look at it in different ways. If you don't want to sit, that's fine. It's a shame you won't get to see them now though.

 

I think a lot of the problem will be that the promoters, or whoever's organised the arrangements will just see 'sold out' next to the gigs and not think anything else of it. It'd be nice to think that 'us normal people' would be listened to.
