so the question is, what is arsenals most embarrassing moment this season. losing a 4 goal lead to newcastle or losing the league cup final to birmingham city? i'm going to say the latter simply because birmingham have won just 6 from 26 this season yet have managed to quite convincingly beat them.

i feel for arsenal fans actually. quietly hope they win the FA cup (which will probably mean beating man utd in the final 8)

I find it an absolute shame that it wasn't Ashley Cole who got shot with proper bullets. A real shame for society and the international community. His is a face I would dearly love to kick.

And as for that other **** Rooney - well his face deserves an elbow in it although I wouldn't take the chances because it might make him that bit less ugly.

Both should be put in a zoo.

Makes you wonder why Liverpool don't want to win it then- or maybe they do, how can we possibly know with their performances.

Total shocker of a goal, I'm glad Birmingham won it, that Arsenal team had no respect for the competition (Which is understandable but Birmingham however do respect it) and just wanted a piece of silver, in reality the fans would know this doesn't count as a real success.

Yes - it's definitely a Disney production.......................

Being a Newcastle fan I thought you'd be able to solve that query.

Why is it so funny?:inquisitive:

Good question.:dozey:

I don't think losing the four-goal lead to Newcastle was embarrassing for the simple fact that this happened after the Gunners were reduced to ten men.

Furthermore, it's rather insulting to Birmingham to suggest that Arsenal should have beaten them.

Birmingham aren't that bad a side, and McCleish is a good manager IMO.

Chimpanzees are well-behaved compared to those two!:P

Rooney's flying assault is apparently 'self-defence', and Fergie's saying the only reason everyone's talking about it is because its Rooney.

Yes, we do keep talking about it, if it was a respected Ryan Giggs type character we would see it as a rare moment of madness and quickly get over it, but because Rooney is a douche and consistently does douchey things, we talk about how much of a douche he is every time he acts like a douche, because that's how it works. Lesson: stop defending your player who's clearly a douche, it just makes you look like a douche. Basically Rooney could spend the next decade never getting a yellow card, shouting at a referee or fucking OAPs and the moment it happens again we're all going to say "Typical".

Same goes for Ashley Cole, what a douche. The source (Mirror) is awful but according to them, Ashley Cole refused to apologise for it, well that was on the back page, from the front paged article (Yes there were 2) apparently he apologised immediately. Lesson: don't read the Mirror, it makes you feel like a douche.

Trying to be as unbiased as possible here (Newcastle fan) but I disagree wholeheartedly, from what I recall Gunners had a full-strength team (Missing Walcott yesterday and extremely missing Cesc- absolutely no leadership on that field or consistency) and to give away 4 goals in 20mins after being 4 up, that's unthinkable for ANY team. Sometimes they can look an average side, and average sides lose regularly enough to teams like Birmingham in the same fashion, but I wouldn't expect even a lower league club to throw a game away like that at Newcastle, it illustrates more then any game how terrible Arsenal are at being dogged and gaining a strong foothold in a contest and seeing it out.

I didn't think they were shockingly bad yesterday and did have periods of pressure but that's the game, Birmingham defended well and played good enough to deserve a win.

Now another question, the blunder- to me they were both at fault, but who's fault was it more, Szczesny or Koscielny? I think a more experienced goalkeeper wouldn't have screamed as a defender is clearly swinging for the ball, and a more experienced defender wouldn't be put off by a call and just smacked it, apologize to the keeper and get on with it.

I'll go for Koscielny though, partly because then I don't have to try spell the other one's name again.

I agree. I'd have far more respect for Fergie if he came out and condemned Rooney for what he did. Surely even the most biased Man U fan would have the common decency to do that?

Ryan Giggs would never do what Rooney did, because he has intelligence and knows the meaning of the word "professional".

It isn't the first time either Rooney or Cole has done something idiotic. As somebody on The Wright Stuff said, they're both "overpaid idiots".

Not when you're at a numerical disadvantage for such a long period of time.

If Arsenal had had 11 players on the pitch when this happened, I'd agree.

I'd rather play a ten-man Arsenal with Fabregas then an 11-man without (Judging by yesterday I literally mean that), but I see what you mean.

I'd rather credit Newcastle for the fightback than focus on Arsenal's demise, anyway.

I won't disagree that Arsenal caved in far too easily (even with ten men), but Newcastle's passion and desire that day was nothing short of phenomenal.

From what I saw of the final yesterday, Arsenal didn't actually play badly, and created quite a few chances. It was also no coincidence that Foster was named "man of the match".

The Gunners were also missing two of their most influential players, and it wasn't as if they were "thrashed" by Birmingham. It was a very tight match, therefore there's no reason for Arsenal or their fans to feel ashamed or embarrassed IMO - only very disappointed.

I agree with Henry Winter who said that that is the Respect campaign out the window. How can there be respect when an elbow isn't punished because a referee won't admit to mistakes. There have been other times in the past where referees have said in their match report that they got decisions wrong (for example the referee in charge of last nights prem game got cards rescinded - holt/ibinez).

Neither side should get the win. Those outcasts in society Cole and Rooney don't deserve 3 points for their team.
