I was never a fan of Rooney, but Holy Mother of God, what was that goal?!?!

United don't deserve to win, though. City played better tham them.

if we're going to talk about how well teams have played and what they deserve man utd should be in the relegation zone. but this is a results business and they get the results.

enjoy it before Youtube takes it down

You're absolutely right.

Bayern won and kept a clean sheet 4-0

Arsenal winning :awesome:

I'm scared for Werder tomorrow though:dozey:

they're playing Hannover.

Liverpool deserved to win

Off his foot= goal of the season.

Off his shin= fantastically lucky.

And unfortunately it's the latter.

English media love to overhype anything Rooney does. He's a very overrated player.

As for Liverpool - not disastrous seeing as the team was hampered by injuries to their main players and being interrupted by those meaningless international friendlies.

Period.

To be fair when I heard about it on BBC they did say it was a possible goal of the season, really though, the Manchester derby which is now bigger then ever, for United's out of form star striker to score a goal like that for the winner, if they don't over-hype that then what can they hype?

It was a nice goal

but what about this?

nasri-wonder-goal-o.gif

He had to get past defenders and the goalie and he was on a half-turn and shot the goal while falling down.

Rooney made a bicycle kick, other people do it too :dozey:

How many people have you seen doing what Nasri did?

I concur with the ubiquitous '0v3r8ed!' Rooney comments. But it was a heck of a goal, and the fact it was the game winner....in the darby...against the (statistically) best defense and best keeper in the league, means it might be goal of the season.

It was an awesome goal, no doubt of that. But that doesn't change the fact that Rooney is very overrated.

That Nasri goal is incredible, but Rooney's has the HOLY SHIT WHAT WAS THAT factor, which is more impressive comes down to personal opinion, and the argument can be turned on it's head, when has Nasri hit an overhead kick like that? If you've ever tried it, you are lucky to even get a connection, and I do think when they go in (Not from chesting the ball and then doing it, but from a cross where you're swinging at air) there's a degree of luck involved, but definitely more judgement and skill.

Basically you can only score a goal so good that they're all basically on an equal par, I'd consider Johann Cruyffs volley in Euro '88 a more incredible goal then Maradona's against England, but I accept the latter was on a much more noteworthy occasion, and it's always harder to do exceptional skill under extreme pressure, Rooney would have the weight of the world on his shoulders up until the 77th minute as he had played piss poor- for him to come out with THAT was more shocking and amazing.

I agree. I may have been one of Rooney's harshest critics at times (e.g. in the World Cup when he was a disgrace to the nation), but that goal he scored yesterday was phenomenal.

There aren't many players around even capable of scoring a goal like that. It really was a touch of genius, and I very much doubt you will see a better goal scored in the Premiership this season.

The fact that Rooney had had an indifferent match, and that he scored it in the derby, made it even more special.

Nasri's goal was brilliant too, but Rooney's was breathtaking.;)

Surely you mean Marco Van Basten?

Obviously I meant this one

[/stubborn] :blank:

No haha I did indeed mean Van Basten, where the fuck did I get Cruyff from- woulda been in his 40s?

Anyone else have an annoying amount of Man U fans in the work place, butting heads together and growling in celebration? Screw what I said about Rooney's goal, fuck em all.

Oh Richard.

Released on the morning of his first day at TalkSport, coincidence? Every chance that this could be more big bad news for Keys, and subsequently Gray, by tomorrow, depends how much Murdoch wants to make of it. Who the fuck knows, it's certainly no better or worse then the sexism, but now racism on top of that, LAWLS.

I'm guessing people are sick of being pissed off at Keys and might not care.

Ronaldo retires, despite all the jokes about pies, I am sure this player would be now regarded as the best player ever if he didn't have a recurring knee problem, letting his fitness slip meant from only his early 20s he was more then a yard off pace what he used to be (As you're about to see). In case anyone has forgotten:

That's by far the most impressive clip reel I've seen of a player at the top level, and it's basically only 4 seasons of football (With 1 Real goal at the end lawl). I've never seen a player skin a defence on such a regular, weekly basis, or launch a 30 yard shot into the top corner every few games.

I don't even care he's retiring, haha I wasn't sure if he already had done, but it does remind me how unstoppable he was before he had to adapt to being purely an off the shoulder striker, and how unfortunate it is we don't have another 10 years of clips like those.

Oh what the hell, I've hijacked this thread with youtubeness already, let's have another:

Rooney, I hope he gets injured and never plays again !

Champion's League tomorrowwwww

listened to some of Keys and Gray's programme this morning, what a load of tripe.
