Dirtiest tackle you will ever see!

only in Australian football!

I can see why he played for Millwall then!

And is that match at the MCG? If so - what a fucking brilliant stadium to host a football match. Awe inspiring stadium. Probably the finest in the world.

With the development of Australian football particularly in the past 10 years and it's truly magnificent stadia, fans and culture, it is absolutely disgusting that this country didn't get the chance to host the World Cup in 2022. Absolutely shocking.

it's actually Docklands Stadium (commercially known as Etihad Stadium) which is the biggest indoor stadium in the country with a capacity of about 55 000. It is actually usually used for aussie rules football and cricket which is why there is a large distance between the crowd and the field itself. The MCG similarly is used for the same sports which is why i'm not a big fan of either stadium being used for football. on the other hand the olympic stadium and SFS in sydney are rectangular and purpose built for football and rugby.

re muscat. in his short time in the UK he earned himself 8 red cads and 76 yellows as well as ending the career of another player who sued him for $6 million but only got 600 000 out of him. he has been absolutely hammered this morning by our media.

Note: i have a slight sydneysider bias here :P

Muscat's just a thug. He once told Ashley Young on his Watford debut 'Run past me and I'll break your legs'. ****.

How the hell can you question the talents of those great goalscorers yet praise who is merely a good consistent goal scorer at club level only and nothing else. Has Bent ever performed on the international stage? Has he fuck! Largely abysmal in an England shirt. And has Bent ever scored a goal like this against opposition of this quality? Linekar, Raul and Inzhagi have had a technical ability in the box that was light years of what Bent can do.

Did I say that I never question Bent's ability or that he's a better striker? And if you weren't retarded you would realise that if I say that at times I question the ability of those 3 strikers, then clearly for the most part I think they are of great quality. Sometimes you look at the control, shooting ability etc of Inzaghi and talent wise, at time's he looks fucking horrible, and like Bent he'll only get 20 touches of the ball in an entire match, but then he pops up and slips one in the net. You got everything all mixed up here.

But nice work harping on about the importance of international quality and then posting a brilliant goal- from a fucking friendly. Clap clap.

What a post.

I genuinly don't know what on earth you're talking about. And a friendly maybe, but a goal nonetheless showing technical skill Bent hasn't shown. Jesus Christ. You really are dim.

Sky discipline Andy Gray & Richard Keys over comments

Sky Sports duo Andy Gray and Richard Keys have been stood down from Monday's game between Bolton and Chelsea after their comments about a female official. Believing their microphones were off, Keys and Gray agreed that Sian Massey and other female assistant referees "did not know the offside rule".

The remarks were made before Saturday's match between Wolves and Liverpool. Barney Francis, managing director of Sky Sports, said: "Their comments were totally unacceptable."

Keys and Gray have been the face of Sky Sports football coverage since the satellite broadcaster started showing English top-flight matches in 1992. Speaking ahead of the game, Keys added: "Somebody better get down there and explain offside to her."

Gray quipped: "Women don't know the offside rule."

In a statement on Monday, Francis explained his decision for disciplining the pair. He said: "I have spoken directly to both Richard Keys and Andy Gray this morning.

"It has been made clear to each of them that their comments were totally unacceptable. Those views are inexcusable, entirely inconsistent with our ethos as a business and employer, and will rightly offend many of our customers, our people, and the wider public. They are inexcusable from anyone at Sky, regardless of their role or seniority. We have dealt with this matter by taking immediate disciplinary action. As with any employee it would not be right to go into detail on those proceedings. However, they have been clearly warned about their behaviour and reminded of their responsibilities. In addition, Richard and Andy will not be involved in any way with tonight's live Monday Night Football."

The comments from Gray and Keys have been widely criticised in football circles. England captain Rio Ferdinand said on Twitter: "I'm all for women refereeing in football, discrimination should not happen in our game at all ... prehistoric views if u think otherwise."

West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady, one of the highest-profile women in football, said the comments made her "blood boil".

"I don't think any of the comments were anything other than [sexism]," Brady told BBC Radio 5 live. Host Keys and pundit Gray also discussed comments made by Brady in the Sun newspaper on Saturday about the levels of sexism in football. "See charming Karren Brady this morning complaining about sexism? Yeah. Do me a favour love," stated Keys. But Brady said she was more concerned by their comments about the 25-year-old Massey's selection for the Premier League match. Massey got a crucial call correct in the build-up to Liverpool's first goal and Brady, a former managing director of Birmingham City, felt the remarks showed a lack of respect.

"I just think it's unfair. Here is somebody doing a very important job under very difficult circumstances, who deserves and warrants our respect and here are two people who other people listen to and get their views from not giving her a chance," she said. "Everyone is entitled to a personal opinion but what really upsets me is the fact that only females in our industry are judged by their gender and that is categorically wrong. I don't think any of the comments were anything other than [sexism]. You know 'we'd better go down and tell her the offside rule.' I'm surprised they didn't say 'we'd better go down and tell here to put the kettle on.'"

"I'm genuinely disappointed. It never would have occurred to me that they had those views, whether public or private.

"It almost makes it worse that they're speaking when the microphones are not on as opposed to when they are on, because [they have] never really had the brass neck to say it publicly, they would only say it privately."

Alan Leighton, national secretary of referees' union Prospect, echoed Brady's sentiments. "I think the comments are unacceptable," he said. "We need to move on from that. Women are in football at level they are at they are in on merit. They are evaluated and assessed in the same way as men. It was unacceptable because it was suggesting women have no role in football and what are they doing there? That is offensive to women who are desperately trying to get into being referees, to women who play football and watch football."

Keys and Gray were also criticised by football's equality and inclusion campaign. "This indicates a lack of understanding by individuals at the forefront of sports broadcasting who are revered and respected by many, and hints at wider issues about sexism in society," said Lord Herman Ouseley, chairman of Kick It Out.

Former England women's cricket captain Rachel Heyhoe-Flint was supportive of Keys and Gray and described their exchange as "banter". "I know Richard and Andy very well indeed," she told 5 live. "These were tongue-in-cheek comments and we are blowing something enormously out of proportion here."

The sexism debate even cropped up in Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish's news conference on Monday. At the start, Dalglish jokingly asked Sky's male reporter whether he minded that there was a woman present.

I'm glad SKY took action against those two bums.

Noo :disappointed:

would love to know what people think of the battle over londons new olympic stadium.

who should get it? the struggling west ham or the over ambitious tottenham?

Andy Gray has been Sacked...

He will be missed. !!

I wont miss his Anti City remarks too much, still it wont be the same without him...

I think the Spurs should get it, but I think that's my own bias. :P

Sacking Andy Gray harsh or was it the right decision?

It was a seprate issue, and what he did was out of order.

I'm no athletics man but the London bid made a promise that the stadium would be a lasting legacy for track and field post 2012 and Tottenham's incredibly arrogant bid totally breaks that legacy promise. Tottenham say having a track round a football stadium always turns out to be a failure. Erm how? Look in Germany - Bayern Munich played football at the Munich Olympistadion for over 30 years and were of course European Champions 4 times in that period with fantastic support during that era. Hertha Berlin play in the Berlin Olympic Stadium and yes perhaps the fans would like to get closer to the action but at the end of the day they are still able to have a good time. The Stade De France, perhaps the most magnificent of all stadiums in Europe, has a running track around it but still offers an immense atmosphere in both football and rugby.

West Ham should get it but at the end of the day I'm disappointed that the stadium appears to have no plans to host rugby matches, cricket matches and football matches. It would be a perfect venue for all these sports particularly cricket. With West Ham's bid Britain could finally have the possibility of hosting the European and World Athletics Championships at the very least.

West Ham should get it, for starters it's nearer them and they don't want to knock it down.
