Well Anelka moved on loan to Liverpool some 9 years back now for 6 months and did really well...and then Gerard Houllier committed management suicide by not signing him up when he had the opportunity. Instead he decided to buy that spitting inhumane monster El Hadji Diouf for £15 million. Quite simply amongst the worst, if not the worst transfer in footballing history. And the bad thing is English football is still stuck with the prick.

Real Madrid lost to Osasuna on Adebayor's first game w/ RM, 1-0. Barca leading 7 points now.

anyone brave enough to put a bet on real madrid winning the la liga?

anyone brave enough to put a bet on real madrid winning the la liga?

Anyone brave enough to put a bet on Jose Mourinho being Real manager next season? Surely this loss will only widen the gap between him and the club hierarchy?

Reading all Madridistas' reactions (on Tumblr :uhoh:)- they were all like 'oh, we still have the Copa del Rey and the CL'. They've pretty much given up on the Liga. :P

I've read a headline a few hours ago that Mou have suggested going back to England next season but not w/ Chelsea. If only I can remember where I saw it... :shame:

Fulham 4 - 0 Tottenham, and I have no idea what to say.

now that just sucks :dozey:

anyways here are the new environmental friendly Qatar stadiums

^i like the one clad in gold. with their climate, i bet the surface is gonna be super hot.

i thought they were meant to be indoors and air conditioned...............

they don't look indoors. but isnt it that the games will be held in winter? at least, the climate is gonna be cooler.

^ going to be the most artificial, coroporate, spiritless World Cup in history.

Anyhow the rumours on Torres on Sunday was this.

Torres trained alone at the club's training complex at Melwood. Seen as a move by the club so not to distract the whole Liverpool team and as punishment for his disruptive actions.

Kenny Dalglish was allegedly so furious that he refused to speak or meet Torres today.

Torres left Melwood on Sunday evening reportedly in tears knowing that it could be the last time out of the training ground and that he'd let the fans down, the manager down, his fellow players down and overall the whole club.

people have asked for a winter cup for that reason, but FIFA hasn't budged.

FIFA are quite happy to budge. It's the clubs and figures in the major European leagues who won't go along with it though.

Oh yeah. I saw pictures of him training alone, :( but some people said that it was because he just arrived from Spain and the rest of the squad already had training the previous day.

Well, I think many people are really disappointed by his recent actions. Was his decision to transfer unexpected?

Rumours swirled in the summer but they were never serious. He was not expected to go this January so it was a big surprise especially after saying he was committed to Liverpool till the end of the season just 2 weeks ago. He's been a fool and has shown himself up badly.

alright. final few hours of the transfer window.

at the moment it looks like chelsea will spend 50 mil on torres. liverpool will spend 30 mil on carroll. sturridge to bolton on loan. aguero to spurs not sure for how much though.

im up for another couple of hours. so i hope something significant happens in that period.

0810: Former Liverpool midfielder Luis Garcia has been on Radio 5 live this morning explaining why Fernando Torres wants to leave Liverpool.

"Torres left Atletico looking for trophies and titles and he has not achieved any of them and maybe it is time to think about it," he said.

"Liverpool are in a position where they are struggling in the league and maybe with all the changes they have done it is a good moment to leave."

0959: DONE DEAL: Nottingham Forest's quest for a full-back is over. They have signed Paul Konchesky on loan from Liverpool.

1147:BBC Radio 5 live's Mike Sewell reports: Shaun Wright-Phillips is expected to stay at Manchester City unless a permanent deal can be done. The injury to Adam Johnson wouldn't stop SWP from being sold. City are understood to only be interested in doing a deal which ends in a permanent transfer. West Ham, Fulham and Bolton have all enquired about loans until the end of the season. On the subject of Johnson's injury, I'm told City could bring in extra cover but no big name expected.

Liverpool's £30m Andy Carroll bid rejected by Newcastle

Liverpool have had a £30m offer for Newcastle striker Andy Carroll rejected, BBC Sport understands.

Newcastle insist the 22-year-old is not for sale and reportedly turned down an approach from Tottenham last week.

Carroll has scored 11 goals in 19 league games this season and made his full England debut in November's 2-1 defeat by France at Wembley.

Liverpool have agreed a £23m fee for Ajax striker Luis Suarez but could be set to sell Fernando Torres to Chelsea.

Liverpool demand £50m for Fernando Torres from Chelsea

Torres is expected to be the subject of an improved bid by Chelsea on Monday

Liverpool are likely to sell striker Fernando Torres before the transfer window closes on Monday if they can agree a £50m package with Chelsea.

The Reds could be open to a deal of £40m in cash plus Blues forward Nicolas Anelka, according to an Anfield source.

They have already rejected a £35m bid from Chelsea for Torres, who was signed from Atletico Madrid in 2007.

The 26-year-old Spain striker's transfer request was turned down by Liverpool on Friday.

The Reds are angered by the timing of Torres' request - the January transfer window closes at 2300 GMT on Monday - and believe Chelsea have "tapped up" the player by encouraging him to express a desire to leave.

Torres has a £50m release clause in his contract, but this only entitles him to leave if the Merseysiders fail to qualify for the Champions League this season - so even if Chelsea offer a package of that amount, Liverpool believe they could still force him to stay.

edit: it will be an interesting Chelsea vs Liverpool game on the 6th. :P

torres was flown by helicopter directly from Melwood, Liverpool to London.

I think this is a done deal. Fuck him

Inter losing 2-0 at home to Palmero.

It didn't end like that, Pazzini jumped in at the deep end, good purchase:D.

3-2 to Inter

if Aguero doesn't go to tottenham, they will apparently try and get Diego Forlan instead.
