Great manager tactically but made some very questionable aquisitions near the end of his tenure. To be fair I think he took his eye off the ball in his full on war against Hicks and Gillett. They hindered him massively and are the main reasons why Liverpool are where they are today. The rebuilding process must start this month with some good transfers. Admittedly I am concerned that it could take a good few seasons to get back to the Champions League but I'm always hopeful. But on to the current season the away record is absolutely atrocious. I hope Kenny Dalglish can establish Anfield into some form of a fortress again.

He's on something like 16 major trophies in 8 seasons, including winning the league for 3 different clubs 6 out of 8 of those seasons (Or something to that effect). I really respect Arsene, and I'd love for Arsenal to do well, but just look at Mourinho's coaching record it's just incredible.

It's phenomenal and he's probably the only manager capable of taking over a team in the doldrums and get them to the top almost instantly. He instills a mentality into teams that is unlike any other. But Wenger does it for me because Arsenal on their day are just the most phenomenal outfit to watch. Plus he is the only manager who is basically unsackable because of his massive influence with other aspects of the club such as at boardroom and the brand of Arsenal as well. Mourinho's teams aren't quite like that in all fairness but more effective although many will say effectiveness is more important than attractiveness.

January 15, 201115 yr i would've given it to mourinho but im not going to argue with arsene winning it. he can be a total arse (pun intended) sometimes but so can every other manager out there. they're in possibly one of the most high pressure jobs in the sporting world, particularly clubs like arsenal, man utd and chelsea who have millions and millions of supporters all over the world all expecting multiple trophies every season. so to stay in that position for so long is an amazing achievement in itself and i think in arsene's case a lot of that is due to the attractive style of football arsenal play. im pretty sure if arsene had been at any other club he would've been sacked (unjustly) a long time ago. it's a credit to arsenal that they have kept him for so long and sooner rather than later they will start to win the big trophies again.

One thing which was a major factor in Arsene getting the accolade was surely the title winning side he built in 2003-2004 - the invincibles! I've never been so astounded as I have by some of the football played that season.
