December 11, 201114 yr Bolton are useless like Swansea were at defending corners against Blackburn last week!. I was at that game and just knew Yakabu was going to score everytime he launched the ball towards our goal I was sitting behind. Great win for us today though, Swansea are making the Liberty Stadium a fortress. A great 2-0 win over Fulham. Only seen the Swans twice this season being 4-0 and 4-2 losses against Man City and Blackburn. Both of those games were then followed up with Vorm making penalty saves and he didn't save the one against Blackburn. Still, our away form needs sorting and I have to see them at home to witness a win this season!. I'm staying over with family in Swansea during Christmas, so not going to the home game with QPR would make me a right doughnut not to!. El Classico last night, that was one of the best derbies I've seen. Real scoring from the kick off only for Barca to bang in three!!!. Still laughing at Man United's champs league exit, although I am disappointed Man City did not get through either. Those 10 points would have got them through 6 of the 7 other groups and are a much better team than Basel.

Chelsea 2 - 1 Man City Frank Lampard's late penalty earned Chelsea victory and condemned leaders Manchester City to their first Premier League defeat of the season. Lampard - once again excluded from Chelsea's starting line-up by manager Andre Villas-Boas - came off the bench to score the winner with seven minutes left after Joleon Lescott handled Daniel Sturridge's shot. Mario Balotelli gave City a lead their early domination deserved but Chelsea forced their way back into contention through Raul Meireles's equaliser before half-time. Roberto Mancini's side were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when Gael Clichy was sent off, leaving Chelsea to make the most of their numerical advantage and record a third win in succession to leave City with a two-point lead over neighbours Manchester United at the top of the table. City will regret not putting the game out of reach in an imperious opening spell - but Chelsea demonstrated the resilience of old to survive that siege and emerge with a win that puts them only seven points off the Premier League summit. I think Villa's a great talent but the back end of last season was very disappointing. On the other hand there aren't too many forwards that are better in the world right now, if they could land someone like Neymar, who just cant stop scoring, then I wouldn't see the need for Villa. Also Sanchez could be a great talent, or Guiseppe Rossi from Villareal, or Mario Gomez (But he would probably be even harder to sign then Neymar). Regardless, bad time for Villa, hes 30 now, he'll be moving on soon, might not feature this season.

December 15, 201114 yr They really need to think about the quality of their defence right now, beyond the first team there is such a lack of quality to replace the back four, especially as at Puyol's age he possibly can't play every match without getting injured (Which is why Mascherano and even Busquets are thrown in where they don't really belong).

Heard ridiculous rumours about Liverpool/Chelsea chasing him but that will stop no doubt. One thing though is that Liverpool desperately need a goal scorer. The lack of goals this season is hurting us badly. Suarez is a creator and as for Carroll I can't understand him at the moment. He's had a handful of games this season where he's looked good but when he played against Fulham at the start of last week it was the worst performance I'd seen by him. He seems to be taking one step forward and then two steps back. Everyone knows he isn't worth the 35m we paid for him but I was still expecting a lot more from him. But I'm more than happy to give him time. Reilly you watched him a lot at Newcastle last year. What did you think of him there?
December 15, 201114 yr I've seen a lot of him the past few seasons, and he was incredibly effective for our direct, and often long ball style. He played as a lone striker, and if our back line ever got in a spot of bother they'd lump it somewhere in the direction of Andy, he'd get infront of whoever is trying to mark him, chest it down and lay it off, and we're away. He is getting frustrated, he doesn't see much of the ball, he isn't linking up with Suarez well at all, and it's neither persons fault they are simply just on a completely different wavelength. Of course Suarez is still looking rather brilliant so people are naturally blaming Andy. I know a lot of Liverpool fans and it seems you all have patience, but I've started asking at what point exactly does the patience wear thin? End of January? March? What if he's still at this standard by the end of the season? The reason I'm asking this is because Pool fans generally seemed to believe he would slot right into your time and start banging in goals after he got his first one, that didn't happen, so they thought he'd do it by the end of the season, then they thought he'd start this season well, it's now near Christmas and everyone is still 'having patience', and almost too casually. Fans can only shake off the same doubts everyone else has about a player for so long, they can't keep saying "He'll be fine when he settles" forever. You seem to be pretty realistic about it, I'd agree that of course it's not the end of the world for Andy at all yet, but you have reason to be concerned. I don't think Liverpool fans at the moment even like the mention of Andy's name, he was overpriced, a replacement for Torres, so you wanted a saviour, and a big 'fuck you' to £50m Torres who is doing just as poorly at Chelsea. It's not working out like that, and because this is embarrassing I think Liverpool want to protect Andy, anytime you ask a fan about him it's always "Ahhh don't worry about Andy give him a bit of time!" but he's going to have to start scoring quite soon, at least before the summer transfer window he needs to show some promise. If you're asking about ability, he can be a very good player, as good as say a Dzeko type, but he's all about the confidence and determination (If you remember his last performance for England he got next to no supply but somehow managed to do something everytime the ball was in his vicinity) and even though he's certainly still trying to get stuck in he doesn't have a huge belief in himself right now, and for Andy that means a lot. I hope for the most part he does excellently and becomes a legend, but on the other hand instead of seeing him become 'good' or 'average' I hope he's a totally hopeless failure for the next season or two and we'll buy him back for 3.5million. It's either one or the other. lul
