October 20, 201213 yr Sorry for my emotives about this subect of racisim.. however the debate itself its ripping the game apart , in some respects I feel espically in the English Game we are possibly beating ourselves too much. My own experince has been quite the to the contray... I always I was alwaays very positivley accepted going to football matches from 89 onwards.. before being from an ethnic minoroty going to a game was maybe sometimes pretty dangrous. My mum always said they was recuiting grounds for the National Front before... I never ever been offend as its considerd so un cool. Our ban, did in europe did us some good as a society , this needs to happen over there...

Don't think an own goal counts!! :) Can't understand why forwards are in their own penalty area at all in set pieces. Rooney & Ba own goals this week. It just drags in another opponent into a crowded box and doesn't help the goalie as Hart showed. Stop on the half way line and give them a target man for a quick break! sheesh!
October 21, 201213 yr The idea is that they spend all their time trying to beat defenders movements, they should be pretty good at guessing a strikers mentality, and any time will have only one striker ready to break and a few other attacking players on the fringe of the box.
October 21, 201213 yr Seems a strangely premiership style of play. Less so in Italy/Spain. I prefer to see the forwards between the half-way line & centre-circle keeping their full-backs & centre-half tied up. Gives the goalkeeper more space.

October 23, 201213 yr Goal-line technology moves closer after Fifa authorises two systems Two goal-line technology systems have been licensed for worldwide use by Fifa, football's world governing body. The approval means that Hawkeye and GoalRef can now provide their products to leagues and competitions. "This milestone means that the companies now have authorisation to install their technology systems worldwide" said a Fifa spokesman. Goal-line technology is due to be used for the first time in December at the Fifa Club World Cup. But both systems will still need to pass one final hurdle before they can be used in that competition, where Champions League winners Chelsea have been given a bye to the semi-finals. "Once a system has been installed in a stadium, the system undergoes a final inspection to check its functionality" said the spokesman for Fifa. "This is carried out by an independent test institute, and the results of this so-called 'final installation test' must be successful. Only a positive final installation test qualifies a system to be used in official matches." Meanwhile down in the Championship Charlie Austin scored in his 8th consecutive game, equalling the record set by Ray Pointer in the 1958/59 season. another one for Burnley against Cardiff this weekend will give him the outright record. He used to be a bricklayer playing non-league football just a few seasons ago!

The performances against Chelsea and particularly Norwich were absolutely abysmal and was entirely the problem of the players on the field and the coaching staff. By all evidence Arsenal are incredibly stable off the field so to use the likes of Kroenke and Gazidis as scapegoats is a ridiculous excuse.

October 24, 201213 yr What tactic would you have gone in with Daryl, spend more money? That's the only one you know. Yeah I think when Ajax took the lead you should have spent more money, but hopefully before the next game you can prepare and spend more money and once kickoff arrives all the players should be determined to get stuck in and spend more money.
