Who's enjoying Spain vs Italy. :snore:

Only caught bits and pieces behind my student's head during a lesson, just sat down at the start of extratime, and it's rather enjoyable, though apart from one chance for Italy off the post, it's been all Spanish traffic, but they're forcing the issue more than one would expect.

The first 5mins of extra time were more entertaining than the entire 2nd half.

PK's, if Ballotelli was on the pitch, I'd give them the edge. 55/45 my odds for Spain as it is.

Imagine doing a cheeky chip being the first penalty taker, madness.

And I'm gonna go for Italy just to make it interesting. :smug:

Giovinco's penalty looked absolutely clueless but inch perfect.

I hope the production team is a bit better for the world cup, I haven't seen a replay of one fucking penalty yet (Correction, they do keep replaying obscure shots of the players faces up close as they take the penalty)

I was watching on a czech station where there were replays, so I can't vouge for the quality. Genuinely excited for the final, especially since the Brazil team seems pretty revitalized by this tournament.

^ O RLY? I thought during tournaments like these every broadcaster just had to deal with whatever the host nations production crew does (Or at least that's what the commentators here say all the time when they don't get a decent replay of something). Not only did you get to miss the 2nd half, you got replays, lifes not fair.

Yeah Brazil vs Spain will be the bees knees.

Brazil will enjoy it, it will be their last competitive match for a year. Friendlies for them until next June.

They will need Muniesa since Stoke also bought left-back Erik Pieters. Pieters hasn't played a lot the last two years, due to injuries (including a broken hand because he smashed his hand through a window after receiving a red card).

Ah the moment when the more deluded of Liverpool fans think Shelvey is this up and coming British player who showed patches of good form and is therefore priceless, but then realise the rest of the world value him at £5m. And then the even more deluded ones who are angered by how they didn't at least get £15m.

But getting more first-team chances in Swanseas midfield than Liverpools? Hmm. £5m isn't pennies to Swansea but that doesn't mean he'll walk into the team, I think he has decent potential though.

This guys looking for royalties Man U.

Nicolas Anelka: West Brom complete signing of veteran striker

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23188032

not a bad signing on the face of it, assuming 34 y.o. Anelka has matured with his travels. 1 year deal at a club where he will get plenty of first team football to stop him getting bored, with a manager who he used to work with at Chelski. might be worth a sneaky transfer in at the start of the fantasy footy league...

I kinda like Anelka and I don't know why. He's one of the good strikers in the league who hasn't elbowed one of our defenders.

Don't think there's that much delusion amongst Liverpool fans. The discussion amongst many of us towards the end of the season was that his form had dipped so alarmingly that it was best for him to go and spend another period on loan like he did with Blackpool. Admittedly there was the odd (just the odd mind) delusional idiot who said 'he reminded me of Gerrard when he was 21' which is laughable to say the least. I think it's a great move for him. He'll get more opportunities at Swansea and will probably be able to develop greater there rather than see his opportunities limited. He's got a lot of work to do on the technical side of his game - first touch and possession wise he was a liability at times. But he's a good player who has strength and aggression and like you said he has decent potential. 5 million is a fair price for him so no complaints there at all. Hope he does really well at Swansea.
