Yea, we're obviously very happy about where we are right now, but it's too early to be anything other than a bonus. The defence looks fragile at times, even with Ledley, and he's not able to train with the others, so I don't expect much improvement there. Corluka is no centre-half, and he's no right-back either.

The rest of the team look pretty tight so far, but Huddlestone needs to sharpen things up, and lose Palacios, Lennon or Luka 'the Magician' Modric and we'll look a very different side.

Oh well, enough to be happy about for now :)

At least you ain't got the uefa cup to deal with this year (yeah I know it's not called the uefa cup anymore, but for most people it shall always be the uefa cup regardless what it's called)

Burnley - This year's Reading (first season)?

Wow, very surprised to see mc_squared has the cheek to show his face on any sort of football thread here after all his nastiness on the Tottenham thread last year (where he smugly assured Spurs of relegation in his usual poisonous fashion).

I'm entitled to my opinion, as anyone else is about any team. You really shouldn't take it so personally.;)

And I don't believe I ever said Spurs were certs to be relegated, just that it would have been funny if they were.

I don't like to see people being too arrogant about any team, whether it's Spurs, Man City or anyone else.;)

Anyway, bringing Harry in was the best thing they could have done. Sure beats having foreign managers who can't even speak English properly.;)

Nothing personal ever taken from you - I know you will be unpleasant to just about anybody, and for whatever reason (or more usually, for none at all).

You said Spurs would be relegated, we can bring up the old thread and your posts on others that preceded it if you like...if not there is nothing more to say...

Well comeon after that frankly rubbish start Spurs had last season :P

I know Pompey are going down this season (selling our best players to reduce debts, reduce wage-bills etc, all thanks to Harry signing players on sillyish money before fucking off to Spurs)

Exactly. Whatever was said at the time, it was fair comment.:D

People really do need to learn how to be more thick-skinned about such trivialities.:P

I would say you come out with more unpleasant remarks and insults than anyone on here. Your initial comment was completely unnecessary anyway, as I hadn't even mentioned Spurs this time.:dozey:

Who cares? You really do need to get over it.:dozey:

Oh no....not ol honest 'Arry. Beware Spuds, he will bring your club to ruin.

Now if Saints can just get their collective shit together we can meet up in the World of Fizzy Pop next year Dave. But from what I have seen so far we will have a fancy stadium in League 2. :(

So if I make fun of the Saints and say they're certain to get relegated again, are you going to throw your toys out of the pram and freak out like Tonsulitis??

Anyway, so far so good for the Addicks.:D

Violence erupts at London derby (West Ham v Millwall)

A man has been stabbed in the chest during violence involving "hundreds" of fans outside West Ham's Upton Park stadium during a game with Millwall. Fights broke out at 1915 BST and were still raging more than an hour later. Police are assessing a man stabbed in nearby Priory Road at about 2025 BST.

A fan told the BBC it was the worst hooliganism he had seen in 30 years. A Met spokesman said: "It looks like there has been some planned trouble disorder from fans." He added: "Hundreds of fans are estimated to be involved."

British Transport Police said they heard reports of minor overcrowding at the Tube station near the ground, but their log shows no arrests.

'Bottles and bricks'

The BBC's Ben Jacobs, who is at the stadium, said: "The trouble broke out outside the Tube station about 600 yards from the ground. "There were 500 to 1,000 riot police and Millwall fans managed to break through the divide. Bottles were thrown and bricks were as well."

He added: "There has been a bit of trouble inside the ground. There was a penalty shout and fans started gesturing and throwing small objects. But police do have this under control."

CITY have a chance to cause a bit of drama..

Former Preston Nobend player David Nugent has moved from Portsmouth to Burnley. I'm happy.
