Look, mate... good luck.

I am out of ideas now...

I will talk on Tueday morning if we beat the Granny Robbers...

If we dont I sure my silence will speak volumes whilst I have consumed myself in my own shite...

I am up for a major fall, if we get beat by Liverpool .. the whole bar is against me now !

the whole world infact apart from Blues

Oh - I was going to wish you good luck but since you made that needless off the cuff remark against Liverpool now I won't bother. Whatever happened to the once witty, gracious Man City supporters?

Good things, it is said, come in threes and if that really is the case then tonight’s game with Liverpool should be an absolute cracker.

For, before a ball has even been kicked in the first Premier League home game of the season, we will be unveiling two brand-new, ground-breaking firsts for the English top flight.

Thanks to significant summer investment into facilities that every fan can enjoy, the club is delighted to unveil both the City Square entertainment zone and the new look Family Stand

There will be family fun wherever you look both inside and outside the ground.

Entertainment for kids will include free face painting, product "guns" firing goodies into the crowd, magicians, jugglers, interactive chalkboards, virtual dressing room, and height check chart for them to measure themselves against the City squad

Just as important there will be improved food for youngsters - spaghetti, chicken goujons, smoothies - lowered counters, lowered wash basins and toilets.

City Square is a brand new pre-match entertainment zone designed with Blues fans squarely in mind and will also be the first of its kind at a Premier League club. It is sure to raise the crossbar for how football clubs embrace their supporters in the build up to home matches.

It is be a vibrant and state-of-the-art fan experience, located on Joe Mercer Way outside the Citystore.

In addition to being a place for families to congregate before matches, it will also provide fans with entertainment

...City Square

Giant media screens will be streaming specially edited and live video content, while the Club’s community arm – CITC - will provide match day activities for children.

The area will boast the Summerbee and Star bar which will be kitted out with the latest technology enabling multiple pints to be poured in seconds. The Blue Moon cafe will also be serving up a range of traditional northern favourites with a twist. All of which will be under the cover of a series of specially designed waterproof canopies, designed to keep the fun in and any bad weather out.

City Chief Executive, Garry Cook said: “The aim of City Square is to greatly enhance the match day experience of our supporters by providing them with exceptional food, drink and entertainment facilities within a family friendly environment. It is the first facility of its kind within the Premier League and we're really looking forward to our fans using it for the first time before the Liverpool game.”

BDP Project Director John Doyle, the architects commissioned to design City Square, added: “City Square is all about extending the pre-match build-up and excitement outside of the stadium and onto the surrounding concourse to bring fans together in a fanzone specially designed for their entertainment. It's about meeting friends, having something to eat and drink and being entertained in a family friendly atmosphere on the club’s doorstep.”

As City Square has been flexibly designed, it will also be used for non-match day events to provide entertainment and hospitality for up to five thousand customers and will have direct links to the new Metrolink station which opens in 2012.

YET ANOTHER STATEMENT OF INTENT............

City Square will officially kick off at 5pm this evening, fans are invited to come on down and get the carnival atmosphere started in true City style.

If I can get this damn internet sorted I will be sitting watching the game. Should be interesting for the neutral.

so far Man City 3-0 Liverpool

Not the best game but its comfortable for City without being flattering

Liverpool have been well and truly thrashed.:stunned:

Only 3-0 against a poor Liverpool side?

For a team of world beaters, there should have easily been more goals :P

Well there certainly could have been....................

Liverpool are asking for it when you play the likes of Lucas, Skrtle and N'Gog. Pains me to see a team as proud as us having to field players like that week in week out. Man City did well, but it's one of those 'blue moon' performances from them like they did against Arsenal last season. But that's what you'll get when Man City have paid out around £110 million in the last two months alone against the net spend of £0 Liverpool have done. Still makes me really pissed off how Benitez had the mind to assemble such an average bunch of players together. No doubt - Roy Hodgson has been left with a pile of shit to clean up.

That's exactly why Benitez had to go.;)

Still doesn't explain how poor Torres was, though.:dozey:

Yeah he wasn't good. He needs another quality player close to him and not just Gerrard. Yeah there's Joe Cole but they need another one because Fernando Torres did not move to Liverpool in 2007 to play up front with David FUCKING N'GOG! He is no where near good enough to play at the top level and is at best a Premier League relegation/Championship player.

I couldn't agree more. N'Gog just isn't up to it. You'd better hope they bring someone in soon before Torres gets p*ssed off and demands a move.:dozey:

It won't be long at this rate.

Well Mascherano has already jumped ship!:dozey:

Liverpool !!!!

Yeah well he's not exactly conducted himself well tonight.

Yeah well he's not exactly conducted himself well tonight.

You can say that again. What a "traitor".

I reckon anyone who refuses to play for their club should be banned from playing for anyone until the next transfer window.

Sickening, I don't even know how good City were, because Liverpool made them look great. Player-for-player we all know which club is strongest, and it really looked like that. Nearly every 50-50 battle in the air or on the ground was won by City, and once they got the ball, they simply held on to it. There wasn't much genius or great moves or passing, they just held on to the ball, and got players into dangerous positions, an inevitability of pure possession football.

Liverpool looked lifeless, no drive or ambition to win the ball, and even when they did, they got ahead of themselves, played up to the furthest forward player, who'd only represent their shit mentality and tactics by trying to run even further forward, but obviously being surrounded by multi-million pound players and having no support.

They were dire, they never looked like being a threat apart from a flash of brilliance by Torres and Joe Hart making some incredible saves (The double save being the highlight). I still think anything more then 3 would be unfair, mainly because City didn't play well enough to deserve a rout.

And after all this debate and discussion I've been having about them (Mainly debating with myself) with Daryl this is his most gracious acceptance of what happened:

Liverpool !!!!

Uh wut?

What a dainty dish to set before a Sheikh.

The Blues owner Sheikh Mansour made his first visit to the club he bought almost two years ago and on this eye-catching evidence he will regard it money very well spent.

Two games into the season and the Blues are already three points up on last season’s return from the corresponding fixtures.

That bodes well but more importantly this win over Liverpool means that despite one of the hardest starts possible, Roberto Mancini’s men have kept up with the early pacesetters and are still to concede a goal.

And the composed and elegant manner of the victory will have impressed all those watching across the globe.

All football eyes were on sodden CoMs as two of the top four contenders stood toe to toe.

It was the third such Titanic clash of the embryo campaign following the Blues’ visit to Tottenham and Liverpool’s own horn-locking with Arsenal on the opening day.

Those two games ended in stalemate and there were many who expected this to go the same way.

After all, five of the last seven meetings had ended with the spoils shared and there were high class performers all over the pitch for this one.

The stats pointed to something other than a goal fest too as only 16 goals had been scored in the previous 11 league matches between the sides and that included a 2-2 and a 3-2! How wrong the soothsayers were.

Mancini, without the injured Mario Balotelli, handed a debut to James Milner and promoted Adam Johnson in place of David Silva. After sitting out the Europa League tie in Romania, Micah Richards returned at right back.

For Liverpool there was no Javier Mascherano - the subject of transfer gossip – but Fernando Torres was deemed fit enough to start.

City had the better of the opening exchanges and came closest when the ever-dangerous Adam Johnson – Skrtel went into the book early for a bad foul on the winger - fired just inches wide from 25-yards. Pepe Reina took no chances diving full length as the ball sped into the advertising hoardings.

There was no real surprise when the home side took the lead with a goal of stunning beauty

...Chris Bailey

Yaya Toure had a boot in the move, so too did Nigel de Jong but the pass that undid Roy Hodgson’s side was delivered by Adam Johnson, taken on by James Milner and finished with aplomb by Gareth Barry.

It was a goal that would have done little to improve the mood at Villa Park but ought to have had Fabio Capello purring and led to those who reckon City are somehow to blame for England’s dropping standards to choke on their words.

The rest of the half promised much but delivered no further goals despite a peppering of Reina’s penalty area.

Milner, Tevez and Johnson all tried their luck from long range with no success but the half belonged to Barry who turned in a midfield master class.

He read the game superbly cutting angles, making tackles and barely putting a stud out of place. Simply brilliant

Chris Bailey

But he wasn’t alone. Johnson was at times unplayable while Vincent Kompany and the rest of the back four were both quick and ruthless in their work.

So too was Tevez, or at least he appeared to be, in the 52nd minute when he pirouetted on to Micah Richards’ knockdown from a Milner corner and nutmegged Reina from three yards for number two. Replays showed that the goal might belong to Richards. We will leave them to argue and the dubious goals’ panel to deliberate what isn't in doubt is that this was biggest home win for City over Liverpool since 1936.

Two games into the season and the Blues are already three points up on last season’s return from the corresponding fixtures.
successful season already then!
