  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

Q. Why is my boyfriend such a douche bag?

The Oracle replies:

I will answer your question with another question rather than the answer. If he's such a douche bag why is he your boyfriend? Maybe it's time to move on...

hahahaha.Such a funny question

OMG! Just people from USA...

Now I know why they never answer me... I already sent 5864241584215 questions...:embarrassed:

Q. Hi, the Oracle

I've been invited for a 18th birthday party. There are going to be up to 6-7 people and I know 3 of them quite good. The problem is that I'm a shy, non-talkative person. The things get even worse because I'm struggling with depression, which lasts for 1 year so far. I'm also a stutterer (stammerer) and I'm afraid that I'll make a fool of me in front of people I don't know. I'm scared of it. Also, there is going to be some alcohol which I hate. I promised myself that I won't let anyone force me to get drunk if I didn't want to. I really care about them and I don't want to lose my only friends. I don't know what to do. If I didn't go they would get mad on me. I refused them a lot of times and they never get mad on it but I don't want them to feel sad because of me. I please you to answer as fast as possible. I need to tell them the answer tomorrow at school. The time is Poland is now 00:17 so I have 7-8 hours left.

Yours,

Damian

P.S. Is Coldplay going to release the album in the first quarter of the year?

The Oracle replies:

You should hopefully get this before the party... I truly believe if you don't want to do something, don't. However I feel you are deliberately holding yourself back from social occasions because of your self-esteem regarding stammering and depression; I would also guess the shyness is a by-product of the two.

I know this may sound flippant but try not to worry about "making a fool" of yourself in front of people you don't know; if they aren't sensitive to your stammer they're not worth it. Your friends will be sad if you don't join them again so maybe make the effort for them but do not feel pressurized into drinking alcohol. Many of us will be subjected to peer pressure at some point in our lives but you are in control of your own actions. How about you agree to go for a short time? Promise yourself that if you are at all uncomfortable or unhappy at the party you will leave.

p.s No.

Q. Wonderful Oracle,

Hopefully your perspective is better than mine and therefore you can help me with it. How exactly is James taking his picture of the sky? Thank you for your perspective Oracle.

The Oracle replies:

Referring to the exhibition on 9th February all you need to do is realize the photograph is of a swimming pool's reflection. James inverted the image so the reflection looks like it's the right way up.

Q. Dear Oracle,

the eighth of February you answered a question about b-sides.

Now I'm a bit worried! You must answer this question or I wont be able to get any sleep this week! And I have a matriculaition examanation test in Swedish on Friday! So now over to my question: What did you mean with this: "...or even worse, an instrumental version! Oh my, I need a lie down, the memories of yesteryear have come flooding back and they're not all good!"

Wasn't the Viva la Vida tour a fantastic experience? Was it a mistake to put the instrumental version of Life in Technicolor on the main album?

Please, you must answer this question!

The Oracle replies:

I don't see Life in Technicolor as an instrumental version of Life in Technicolor ii though. I feel the beginning with Jon Hopkin's soundscape straight into LiT is a great introduction to the album. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against instrumentals per se. I was specifically referring to the 1980's when quite frankly many artists/labels were lazy and shoved them out as b-sides. Prince, Oasis and Coldplay are among those great acts that have consistently had equally brilliant tracks released with the single.

Q. Amazing Oracle,

During Coldplay's H4HN performance I saw a Mac laptop on the floor. What was it doing there??

:D Thank you!

The Oracle replies:

If you notice there's a drum machine on the stand next to Jonny; the Mac was running that. Listen carefully and you can hear it.

Q. So Oracle, alas I feel as if you will actually answer this question because I have studied the style of questions you answer, and this is legit. My dad a few weeks ago gave me a brain teaser and trust me it's teasing me at full throttle. Here it is: 3 men are on an island, one is 250 ponds the others are 125 each. In order to get to the next island they have to take a boat as none of them can swim. But the only boat they have has a max capacity of 250 pounds. How do they get to the other island?

The Oracle replies:

Logic questions can be quite confusing because they tend to throw you a curveball and make you almost over think them rather than lateral thinking.

So, the first trip across will have the two men at 125 each so that one guy can be left on the next island but one can bring the boat back. The next trip will just be the 250 pounder. The man who's already there will then go back to the first island to collect the remaining man. Simples.

Q. Dear Oracle, I have never had a boyfriend on Valentine's Day before (which is quite depressing). Will you be my valentine? :) Love, Meg

The Oracle replies:

Since you were the first to ask (not the last I might add) but yeah, why not?

Don't let it be depressing that you've never had a Valentine. Going out with your single friends can be fun without being necessarily anti-Valentine. That said, it's 24 hours so attack it head on, it'll soon be over.

It's a great day for commercial gain but it's not fun for all; some couples are just going through the motions for duty. Yes of course some are in love and having a great time, some single people feel blue rather than red but there are also singletons that don't care. Try and be one of those because I bet it won't be long before you get a real date rather than a virtual one!

Here's a kiss for all you single people!

x

Q. Dearest all knowing Oracle!

Did the band get the line in the Nappies song...

"And can it kick me? Yes it can"

...from the Robbie William's song Rock DJ? They sound quite similar.

Thank you in advance, and a very happy Valentines Day to you!

The Oracle replies:

Actually there's an old school rap song by A Tribe Called Quest called Can I Kick It? I would bet money on both Robbie and The Nappies taking the line from there.
